We dive deeper into the new Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined and the history of this fabled colorway.

Jumpman drops the Air Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined this month, continuing Jordan Brand’s highly anticipated Spring/Summer collection of retros. This release marks the fifth time the classic Black and Red combo appears on the signature Jordan model. This specific retro is the first time a Jordan 4 has been included in the new Reimagined series. In case you missed the introduction of the series with the 2022 Air Jordan 1 Lost & Found, these releases take notable colorways from iconic silhouettes and add in new, upgraded features and/or materials to give the shoe, and the shoe’s story, a second life of its own. This fresh take on the fabled Jordan 4 colorway is packed with luxurious and high-end details, so whether you’re new to Jordan Brand or are just looking for more information on this particular drop, here’s everything you need to know about the Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined.

The new Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined drops this year

Let’s take a step back. It’s 1989 and Michael Jordan solidifies his G.O.A.T. status with a play solely known as “The Shot”. In the Chicago Bulls’ 1989 first-round Playoff game against The Cleveland Cavaliers, Jordan hit a buzzer-beating shot to help the Bulls advance to the second round of the Playoffs. And what pair of shoes was Jordan wearing? That’s right, the Air Jordan 4 Bred.

“The Shot” not only showed the world the star power of Michael Jordan but also put the Jordan 4 Bred on the proverbial map as one of the most iconic sneakers of all time.

Since then, the Air Jordan 4 Bred has continued to be one of the most coveted colorways and silhouettes in the sneaker community and pop culture at large. It’s been retroed five different times, each with a different look and feel, but 2024’s upcoming drop is the Bred’s most eccentric look yet.

Since 2022, Jordan Brand has reintroduced some of their most legendary colorways with an added twist thanks to their Reimagined series. The Air Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined release is the first Jordan 4 model to get this updated treatment. This new retro brings back the Jordan 4 colorway in a near-perfect shape to its 1989 originator, adding a more angular, slope-like form to the model. The upper swaps out the usual nubuck with high-quality tumbled leather that’s soft to the touch. Lastly, the popular Nike Air heel tab brings a nostalgic feel to the new Bred 4s.

The Air Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined is set to drop on February 17, 2024, and retail for $215.
