Jordan Brand and sneaker/streetwear boutique, Union Los Angeles, broke the internet with their new collaborative collection on the coveted Air Jordan 4 model. When crafting the new design for the sneaker, Chris Gibbs, founder of Union LA, was inspired by the 80s and 90s which helped turn the basketball sneaker into the lifestyle model we know it as today. “For the mesh, we wanted an old school mesh like the OG sneakers of the ’80s,” says Gibbs in an interview with Nike. These additional details helped push the old school rhetoric that Gibbs and Jordan Brand wanted to promote, and the result was this unique Air Jordan 4 colorway.
The Air Jordan 4 Union Guava Ice elevates the classic Jordan model to new heights with its avant-garde design. For starters, the Air Jordan 4’s tongue was folded as a nod to the way the sneaker was worn by many in the 80s and 90s. From there, the colorful upper is the biggest eye-catcher, as a mix of Guave Ice, Brigade Blue, and Fusion Red making this the most colorful Jordan 4 to date.
