Louis Vuitton always pushes the boundaries of traditional fashion. Through novel designs, the brand shapes the palette of their consumers and always knows how to keep things fresh and unpredictable. Nicolas Ghesquière, the brand’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, has been one of these pioneering designers for LV, bringing unique concepts to the table and taking the Louis Vuitton monogram to new levels.

Just like LV, E-Sports have pushed boundaries in their own realm, challenging what we define as a sport. Considered the black sheep of sporting, the E-Sports has quickly become the most engaged sport of the 2010s and is looking at further expansion in the years to come. League of Legends has been the poster child for E-Sports, a digital take on your childhood favorite Red Rover game, but filled with magical creatures, ghouls, and mythical soldiers.

LV’s collaborations with both Supreme and Yayai Kusama

Due to LV’s ability to branch out into offbeat subjects, such as their collaborations with Supreme and Yayai Kusama, combined with the very special nature of League of Legends, understanding why the two would collaborate becomes much clearer. Fashion meeting video games is nothing new, both within the real and virtual world. Last year, Fragment collaborated with your childhood favorite Pokemon game series on a set of apparel that could also be worn by avatars in the game itself. Italian fashion house Moschino has had its hand in video game cross fashion, utilizing Super Mario as its muse for past collections. In addition, E-Sports came to the runway as the gamer group FNATICS sat front row at Gucci’s recent AW20 show. This latest Louis Vuitton collaboration carries the baton for what luxury and video games can bring to the table.

The collection brings an array of pieces ranging from clothing to bags and accessories, and even delivers a variety of skins for characters in the game itself, bringing Louis Vuitton into the virtual world.
