The Nike SB Dunk Civilist is one of the most unique Dunks to drop in 2020, making it the perfect selection for our latest Details episode. This drop marks the second collaboration between the Berlin skate shop and Nike, with the first being a 2013 SB Dunk High. After months of teasers on sneaker news sites revealing the thermal changing sneaker, the collaboration saw a limited release in August.
The Nike SB Dunk Civilist pushes the limits to how a skateboard sneaker can look. As captured in the video above, the sneaker’s upper gives off the appearance of a simple black hue. But when hit with any high source of temperature, the upper features a slew of colors, spanning from red to blue to green. In addition to a color-changing upper, the heel features an embroidered Nike script in a similar font to Civilist’s logo. The quintessential fat tongue found on most SB dunks shows a Swoosh in 8-bit detailing on the tag.
