The VMAs are tonight and with that means a whole new slue of outlandish outfits for the red carpet. MTV isn’t unfamiliar with hosting some of the most out of the ordinary styles from top charting celebrities, and we anticipate this year being no different. For this year, we wanted to participate in the fun and look back at some of those neck-turning outfits and matching them with a watch from our site! Take a look below at what we came up with.

Madonna VMAs 1984

Back in the 80s, You couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing Madonna coming through all of the stations. At the 1984 MTV Awards, the Queen of Pop performed her hit song from that year “Like a Virgin” and had viewers glued to their screen. Because of Madonna’s unmistakable look on that red carpet and attention-grabbing abilities, a Cartier Tank Anglaise would pair just nicely. This Tank is two toned, complimenting the silver and white of her dress, but at the same time, adding a pop of color with the subtle rose gold accents.

Destiny's Child VMAs 2001

A lot of the time, when we look back at early 2000s fashion, we palm our face and say “what were we thinking?” Destiny’s Child, the group that had everyone screaming “I’m a Survivor” in the shower, came through the 2001 VMAs in blue and orange creamsicle-esq, colors. Only because I think this outfit needs more blue than anything, this Omega Globemaster would help this outfit go the extra mile that it needs.

Lady Gaga VMAs 2010

Speechless. Just utter speechlessness. Lost for words. What even…? Well, regardless, this is Lady Gaga in her infamous meat dress that she wore for the 2010 VMAs. What inspired this dress is beyond me, but it still deserves a watch. Besides pairing it with some salt, pepper, a meat cleaver, and a grill, this Rolex Datejust 41 will do the trick. There really doesn’t need to be much flash from the watch only because there is a literal dress made of meat that demands anyone’s attention.

Riff Raff and Katy Perry VMAs 2014

Do you remember Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s Canadian Tuxedo outfit from the American Music Awards? If you do, then you’d recognize the homage that rapper Riff Raff and singer Katy Perry were paying with this fit for the 2014 VMAs. To keep the denim theme going, G-Shock’s denim-styled DW5600 would match perfectly for the two denim loving musicians.

Jared Leto VMAs 2017

Jared Leto came through the 2017 VMAs in the most sparkly outfit we’ve seen. Dressed in what seems to be a bunch of pieces from Gucci, Leto arguably got a lot of attention for this ensemble, but probably would’ve gotten more if he wore this Rolex Daytona. Meant for someone that isn’t afraid of color, this rainbow-diamond encrusted watch is the perfect peacocking timepiece that would’ve jumped Jared Leto’s fit over the moon.
