While we all love a brand new sneaker, some OGs look just as good, if not better, with a little bit of aging. Brooklyn creative Phillip Leyesa, also known as @philllllthy, has found a way to make brand new look old with his “aged” sneaker customizations. Now you can own a pair of your own custom “Aged” Fire Red Air Jordan 5s thanks to our latest DropX.
If you’re not familiar, hit Philip’s Instagram to see how he puts his vintage spin on some of the latest and greatest sneakers in the game. His colored customs make it feel he owns a personal sneaker time machine. His work has been featured in Highsnobiety, where his custom-aged AJ1KO for NBA player PJ Tucker and custom AJ1s for Michael Rapaport have gone viral, and he’s continued to gain the attention of the larger sneaker and streetwear community.
These “Aged” Fire Red Jordan 5s are a special take on the recent 2020 release, the fourth iteration of the original Fire Red colorway. They feature Philllllthy’s dyed netting on the tongue and medial side, dyed soles, Philllllthy’s name and signature on the underside of each insole, and a special woven tag with Philllllthy’s handle and name on the inside tongue of the right shoe, underneath the Jordan tag.
There are only six pairs available of these custom “Aged” Fire Red Jordan 5s, in sizes 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. Just hit the product page here, or click on the shoes below, to grab a pair for $340 before they sell out.
