Two years ago Travis Scott and Nicki Minaj both released new albums on the same day, August 3rd, 2018. One week later, it was announced that Travis Scott’s Astroworld beat out Nicki Minaj’s Queen for the Billboard #1 spot. Minaj was furious, calling out Scott, Spotify, and even Scott and Kylie Jenner’s daughter, Stormy, for inflating his album sales to help beat her for the #1 spot. Her main callout was centered around his sale of merch bundles that included a digital download of the album which meant that if someone bought a t-shirt, that sale would count toward his album sales. In a tweet by Minaj, Scott was accused of adding nearly 50,000 additional album sales to his numbers with the release of his merch bundles. It was impossible to predict at the time, but this feud rocketed Scott into a level of fame he hadn’t reached before, and proved to be his first act of a career that has included some of the most popular and powerful sneaker collaborations ever. And now even his merch has proven to be some of the most sought after apparel in the market, sometimes even eclipsing the most famous brand in the game: Supreme.
Two years later, the world has more than moved on from the Minaj / Scott beef. Whether or not Scott’s #1 Billboard spot was achieved fairly or not, Astroworld has catapulted Travis Scott to the center of the pop culture zeitgeist. As maybe the biggest hip hop artist in the world right now, it would seem that anything Scott touches immediately turns to gold, including his merchandise. With the release of his Astroworld Bundles, Scott proved the true value of his merchandise and since then he releases a merch capsule for every drop, including every single. Now it’s rumored that Travis Scott may even be starting his own brand called Cacti as his merch designs become more and more popular.
Since adding Travis Scott Merch to StockX, it’s become one of the biggest streetwear brands on the market. The Highest In The Room merchandise that released last fall has outsold most Supreme drops in the last year, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down. Scott has collaborated with Nike and Jordan several times in the last eighteen months, releasing apparel on most occasions, and recently collaborated with Fortnite on a number of apparel and collectible items. The most recent Travis Scott Merch capsule added to StockX coincided with the release of his Nike Air Max 270 Cactus Trails and features cut and sew items like zip up fleeces, windbreakers, sherpa hoodies, and hiking shorts. It seems as if Travis Scott Merch drops become more regular and more interesting with every release, so we have to wonder: is Travis Scott Merch the next Supreme? Take a look at some of his most popular merchandise releases since dropping Astroworld below!
The Official Astroworld Travis Scott Merch
This is the merchandise that Nicki Minaj was upset about, but what Travis Scott did with the merchandise release for Astroworld was pretty cool. For the first week after the album released, Scott dropped new merch items every 24 hours, including pieces like the Astroworld Logo Hoodie and a collaborative t-shirt with Virgil Abloh. The release allowed fans to pick up whatever they wanted while still adding an element of exclusivity and urgency to the release. Check out a selection of the original Travis Scott merch from the release of Astroworld below.
The Astroworld Tour Merch
Shortly after releasing Astroworld, Travis Scott announced that he’d be going on tour. After recognizing the opportunity that exclusive merch presented based on his earlier release, Scott released exclusive merchandise for each show, oftentimes making that show location the only place you could pick up a specific t-shirt. Not long after the shows ended, these exclusives found their way to StockX. In November of 2018, Travis announced Astroworld Festival, a weekend long stop on his tour where he’d throw a festival in Houston, Texas. The festival had its own exclusive merch that’s now available on StockX. Check out some of the Astroworld Festival and tour merch highlights on StockX below!
The First Travis Scott x Jordan Brand Collaboration
Travis Scott’s first apparel collaboration with Jordan Brand released in May of 2019 and coincided with the release of his first Jordan 1s, the highs. The collection featured a brown sweatsuit to match the Jordan 1s, as well as two t-shirts, a hoodie, and a pair of shorts. While the collaboration sold out rather fast, it didn’t make a huge impact on the resale market. The capsule’s standout item was the black hoodie which features the word Jordan using a meteor as the “o” in the word. Travis Scott x Jordan Brand & Highest In The Room
October 11th, 2019 was a good day for Travis Scott. The date marked a three-fold release date for Scott who dropped a collaborative Jordan 6 and matching apparel collection, a new single, and his own separate merch capsule for the single. Scott’s second official apparel collaboration with Jordan Brand featured two t-shirts, two hoodies, one pair of shorts, and two pairs of cargo pants. And they went off. The collection sold out on Scott’s site and the SNKRS app instantly and began to resell immediately after, blowing the first collection out of the water. The two hoodies from the capsule were the most popular pieces and feature a fiery skeletal Michael Jordan dunking a basketball. Unsurprisingly, Travis also released his own merchandise collection alongside his new single, Highest In The Room. The merch released as a part of this capsule featured both Nike and Jumpman logos but was not a part of the official Travis Scott x Jordan collab. Scott’s separate solo collection consisted of 10 items, including the popular green hoodie with an upside down Nike logo on the front and Jordan logo on the back. This release, though it took nearly two full months to begin shipping, absolutely dominated the streetwear category on StockX, demanding a consistent spot in the top 25 most popular items even to this day. The green Travis Scott Jordan Highest Hoodie has resold over 6,500 times, making it the third most popular streetwear item on StockX in the last year. We’ve selected some of our favorites from the Highest In The Room Travis Scott merch drop below and the whole capsule can be shopped here.
The Nike SB Travis Scott Merch
In February of 2020, Travis Scott declared this year the year of the SB Dunk with the release of his Nike SB Dunk. By this point it should come as no surprise that Travis Scott also released a merchandise capsule around his collaboration with Nike SB, although it not officially made with Nike. The release around his Nike SB collaboration featured only four items with a Nike logo but also included several other skateboarding focused pieces. The highlight of the collection was the black Nike SB hoodie which features Cactus Jack branding on one sleeve and the Nike SB logo colored in with the same camo that can be found on the SB dunks. Check out some highlights from the drop below and the whole thing on StockX here.
Travis Scott x Fortnite
After establishing a fruitful relationship with the biggest sportswear brand in the world, Travis Scott turned his eyes to the world of video games and esports, setting his sights on the biggest name in that space as well. Over a month into the stay-at-home guidance surrounding COVID-19, Travis Scott and Fortnite got creative with a partnership resulting in a digital concert, in-game items, and a lot of apparel and collectibles. This collaboration also came just one day after the release of Travis Scott and Kid Cudi’s new song, The Scotts. With 10-14 week shipping windows, some of the items from this release are still arriving to customers, but the drop’s biggest item so far has been the Back Bling T-shirt which features an image of a virtual Travis Scott just absolutely raging. Check out some of the highlights from the collection below!
Travis Scott x Nike
Travis Scott’s first Nike collaboration released alongside his Cactus Trails Air Max 270 and featured just three items. Covered in pockets, the t-shirt, sweatpants, and hoodie all carry a very utilitarian vibe. The highlight of this release so far has been the sweatpants, which have resold over 1,300 times since its release at the end of May. Shop the entire Travis Scott x Nike capsule below!
Cactus Trails Travis Scott Merch
The most recent Travis Scott Merch release dropped alongside his collaborative apparel and Air Max 270s with Nike. The collection plays into the same Cactus Trails and western vibe, delivering fleeces, hiking shorts, and more gear that looks to be made for the mountains. Due to extended shipping times, this collection hasn’t started reselling in volume on StockX yet but as the shipping window comes closer to an end, it looks like the fleeces, windbreakers, and sherpa hoodies are going to arrive just in time for fall. Check out a selection of the Cactus Trails Travis Scott Merch below and the entire drop on StockX here.
