Valve is entering the handheld gaming space with the new Steam Deck, a powerful console that will take your PC games with you on the go. See More
The Valve Steam Deck was announced in July 2021, shocking the gaming world and bringing with it a slew of anticipation and excitement. The Valve Steam Deck is a slick, all-black handheld gaming system outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and a unique button layout that features two trackpads on both sides of the screen. The main appeal with the Steam Deck will be the seamless transition Valve says gamers will experience with their Steam library. All you have to do is login to Steam, and your entire gaming library will be available to play, just like it is on your gaming PC. This is the main selling point of the Steam Deck — if you’re already locked in to the Steam ecosystem, the Valve Steam Deck will allow you to essentially take your PC gaming library on the go. Since 2003 Steam has built an impressive reputation in the PC gaming world as the quintessential distribution platform for PC games. While other video game developers have developed their own platforms that provide PC games (Epic Games Store, Origin, Microsoft), Steam has the largest and most diverse set of games on the platform. If you’re going to purchase a Valve Steam Deck, you absolutely need Steam. The application can be downloaded on any internet browser, and games can be downloaded directly to your PC. From there, they will be available on the Stem Deck for you to enjoy. Valve has partnered with AMD to create a custom APU, which Valve says is customized for handheld gaming. The company claims it will deliver “more than enough performance” to run the latest AAA games in a small footprint. The Steam Deck features a 7-inch 1280x800 LCD touchscreen, 60Hz refresh rate, and 16GB of LPDDR5. The two trackpads on the Steam Deck will allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities. The Valve Steam Deck is available in three different variations — a 64GB, 256BG, and 512GB models. The console will retail at $399, $529, and $649 respectively. All Valve Steam Deck consoles on StockX are brand new and certified authentic by our team of experts.
