As part of a partnership between adidas and Fear of God, the adidas Fear of God Athletics '86 Lo Clay combines the two labels’ house codes, creating a minimalist sneaker with a neutral colorway.
Drawing inspiration from the adidas Rivalry Low’s silhouette, designer Jerry Lorenzo kept some of the basketball shoe design elements. However, he also added a thick sole in Clay and crafted the upper using premium, tonal materials. For example, the upper boasts a premium-suede build, including the signature 3-Stripes logo, the eyelets, and the heel counter. Thin laces in Clay wind through the lace cage, while padding around the heel pays tribute to the Rivalry Low.
Our experts like the stark differences between the branding of adidas and Fear of God. For instance, the adidas trefoil is embossed into the heel, while " FEAR OF GOD" lettering appears on a dark rectangle on the midsole.
