The Puma RS-X 3 Mercedes AMG Petronas Black is a shoe with a retro design that takes its inspiration from the motorsports space.
This version of the Puma RS-X 3 features a base of black mesh on the upper. Synthetic leather overlays in black form the toe cap, the thin wavy mudguard on each side, and a Puma stripe on each side running towards the heel—one in black and one in light gray. Spectra Green overlays also appear on the upper in curvy patterns, providing some contrast. The tongue features an RS-X logo, while the heel features a Mercedes logo. There’s an AMG Petronas Motorsport tag under the lateral ankle. The shoe also features a thick white midsole with gray and Spectra Green supports at the arches.
Our favorite things about this sneaker are the Spectra Green accents, which provide some welcome contrast to the shoe. The Puma RS-X 3 Mercedes AMG Petronas Black was released on March 1, 2020, and retailed for $120.
