DOXA Introduces Another Historic Sub 300T With New Divingstar

Fresh off the heels of their successful “Black Lung” reissue, DOXA has again reached into their archives and recreated a rare co-branded Sub 300 known as the ‘Poseidon Edition’. If you thought the “Black Lung” was rare, with only 12 known examples in the world, original Poseidon dial Divingstar watches can count less than 5 among their ranks. Why so rare? Let’s take a closer look.

Poseidon is a manufacturer of SCUBA equipment, known for their rebreathers, regulators and dive computers. The Swedish company was founded in 1958, and made a splash (sorry) right of the gate with a revolutionary rebreather called the Cyklon. By the ‘70s, Poseidon had firmly established their presence within the recreational diving hobby, and boasted retail distributors around the world. It was around this period that DOXA released a Divingstar variant of their popular Sub 300T watch (the “T” denoting the presence of tritium) co-branded with Poseidon. According to DOXA, there are fewer than 5 of these originals accounted for.

Like their previous recreations, this Divingstar is a near-perfect recreation of the original. The case measures in at 42.7mm in diameter, and the funky shape means it tapers to a reasonably thin edge, making for a comfortable wear. The raised bezel and flat crystal remain, as do the unusual hands, including a minute hand that vastly outweighs the hour hand.

Just 500 examples of the Divingstar “Poseidon Edition” are available for pre-order, and we suspect they won’t last long. Head over to DOXA for your chance to get in on this release, and if you miss it, keep an eye on our DOXA page for resale examples.
