Inside Beyonce's Designer Bag Collection

Queen Bey loves bags. She loves Gucci. She loves Chanel. And of course, she has a special place in her heart for Louis. She incorporated her love of these luxury brands in her music, both for herself ( designer scarf, work of art, rockin’ vintage Gucci -Sexy Lil’ Thug) and her man (“Hermes briefcase, Cartier tie clips” – Upgrade U). The iconic Gucci GG monogram is a particular favorite, appearing in her video for “Formation” and on the On the Run Tour II, where she wore a pair of Gucci over-the-knee boots and matching bomber jacket.

Her love of all things Louis Vuitton landed her a custom designed Jeff Koons x LV bag from newly minted artistic director Virgil Abloh and she’s even passed down her penchant for the finer bags in life to her daughter – this year, Blue Ivy was spotted at an NBA All-Star game carrying a Louis Vuitton Alma BB in monogram vernis leather, which costs a cool $1,820.

Beyonce’s bag collection is vast and as you might have guessed, pricey. But whether they’re from Chanel, MCM or Hermes, these designer bags have been with her since the beginning (maybe not the pre-Destiny’s Child “Star Search” days, but definitely the Bills, Bills, Bills and Say My Name days)

We’ve rounded up a few of her bags for your viewing pleasure:

Louis Vuitton x Azzedine Alaia Monogram Alma

Priced at 6,000, this monogram and leopard print Alma was a collaboration with iconic Tunisian-French fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa. If you’re old enough – and let’s face it cool enough – you’ll remember the designer being referenced in that all-time classic, “Clueless,” specifically when our heroine Cher Horowitz is subject to a car jacking and objects to lying down on the dirt floor of a San Fernando Valley gas station – “You don’t understand, this is an Alaia! It’s like a totally, important designer.” Shop Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy

The Speedy is an all-time Louis Vuitton classic. The Speedy was originally based off its larger counterpart, the Keepall. Louis Vuitton thought it might be a smart idea to shrink down this popular duffle to be used as a handbag. It’s a common bag, but if you’re Beyonce, you don’t just have any old Speedy. You get it custom designed with the phrase “It’s Not Yours” and then post it on your Instagram after you’ve given birth to twins, making the internet go wild. Shop Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons Masters Collection

In 2017, Louis Vuitton unveiled a new collection of bags and accessories designed with the artist, Jeff Koons. The NYC-based artist recreated masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh on iconic Louis Vuitton bags like the Speedy, Keepall and Neverfull. LV artististic director Virgil Abloh gifted Beyonce a custom Jeff Koons x Louis Vuitton Speedy featuring the work of French impressionist painter Monet and a strap that read “King Bey,” along with “444,” a reference to Jay Z-s album, 4:44. Beyonce shared the bag on her Instagram last December. Shop Louis Vuitton.

Chanel Lucky Charms Reissue

When you’re Beyonce, you don’t go for the plain old Chanel bag. You go for the one loaded up with a bunch of charms. From the Fall 2012 collection, this limited edition Chanel Luck Charms Reissue double flap bag is embellished with charms, has chain-link shoulder straps and several pockets. The Mademoiselle turn-lock closure on the front is a classic – allegedly named after the fact that Coco Chanel never remarried. Shop Chanel.

MCM Visetos Monogram Shoulder Bag

Though we don’t see her with MCM often, Beyonce has been a lifelong fan of the MCM brand. She’s pictured above carrying a shoulder bag featuring MCM’s well-known monogram canvas.  Recently, she featured an MCM belt bag in her Halloween homage to the iconic American hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa and also had a custom made MCM outfit made for the collaboration with husband Jay-Z on “APES**T.” Shop MCM.

Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork

Though this bag hurts our eyes to look at and makes us feel slightly nauseous, Queen Bey seemed to love it. From the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer Cruise collection in 2007, this Tribute Patchwork combines 14 different samples of various LV bags. It’s cost hovers around the $50,000 mark, a clear drop in the bucket for Sasha Fierce. Shop Louis Vuitton.

Gucci Boston Speedy

This hard to find Gucci Boston Speedy with iconic Gucci webbing comes with double rolled handles, gold tone hardware and is perfect for traveling. It can be worn as a cross body, but Beyonce likes to carry her Gucci front and center. Shop Gucci.

Givenchy Pandora

Beyonce’s Givenchy “Pandora” satchel comes with brown and tan stud and rhinestone accents, but it’s available without them too. The tubular top opens up to a twill lined interior and the metal Givenchy logo is the center of the exterior. Though she isn’t carrying Givenchy bags that often, she’s photographed frequently in Givenchy haute couture – most notably at the 2015 Met Gala, where she showed up late in a see through Givenchy dress encrusted head to toe in diamonds. Shop Givenchy.

Gucci Merveilles Lip Zip Pouch

This Gucci Merveilles pouch in Monogram GG Supreme canvas features a little something extra, like many of Beyonce’s bags. The exterior features a hand-sewn rhinestone mouth appliqué with “LOVE” embroidery. It also has golden hardware and a zip top closure. The GG Supreme canvas is a fave of Bey’s, the pattern was featured in her “Formation” video as part of the “uniforms” her and her dancers wore. Marni Senofonte was the stylist behind this much-coveted look. Shop Gucci.

Gucci Dionysus

Why wouldn’t you show up court side to a basketball game with a bit of Gucci on your arm? This Dionysus bag features the red and green color combination Gucci is known for, and the bamboo handle which has quite an interesting history. They first appeared In 1947. World War II was still in its final stages and countries the world over were rationing resources. That was especially true in Europe, where artisans at Gucci were being pressured to find materials that weren’t subject to restriction to use in their designs. Bamboo cane could still be imported from Japan, and Gucci craftsman developed a patented method to heat and bend the bamboo in such a way that it would retain its shape once cooled and affixed to a handbag. Shop Gucci.

Hermes Kelly

The Kelly is one of the most sought after pieces in the bag world, with a price tag that makes it inaccessible to most. But not Beyonce, obviously. The bag is named after Princess Grace of Monaco (née Grace Kelly), receiving the title she was widely photographed carrying it, using it to conceal her pregnancy from paparazzi. Before it became known as the Kelly, it was known as the “Sac à dépêches,” designed by the son-in-law of Hermes, Robert Dumas. Prices of the Kelly range between 9,000 to 14,000 depending on the size and material. Shop Hermes.

Chanel Prestige

The Chanel Prestige Flap Bag was released as part of the Spring/Summer 2015 Collection and along with the burgundy version Beyonce is seen carrying, came in pink, black, tan, beige and gray. Unlike most other Chanel bags which only have the chain link strap, the Prestige featured a firm handle. The bag is made of quilted calfskin and is available in several sizes, too.Shop Chanel.
