We’re finally in September, the month that always keeps on giving when it comes to fashion. New York Fashion Week kicked things off last week, with a flurry of runway shows for Spring 2020 that brought the biggest upcoming trends into focus, including lime green, the return of peplum, blazers with nothing but bralettes (Katie Holmes did it best) and sheer textures.

The streets of fashion month, as always, were generous too, giving us delectable and accessible styles from some of the most fashion forward in the game. This was especially true for bags – with socialites, stylists, and fashion darlings showcasing the best in the one accessory that will never let you down.
Here’s a rundown of all the bags that weren’t on the runway.

The Louis Vuitton  Petite Malle Trunk

An homage to LV’s iconic and revolutionary trunks, Louis Vuitton’s Petite Malle Trunk was first seen on the Fall 2014 runway, but with its classic Monogram pattern, gold-tone hardware and black cowhide leather trim, it’s not the kind of bag that looks dated. Since its debut, LV has released other trunks, including a miniature version of the Petite Malle called the Essential Trunk and several pieces from Virgil Abloh‘s inaugural collections.

The Gucci GG Marmont

Featuring a buckle used by Gucci in the 1970s, the Gucci GG Marmont bag debuted in 2016 and quickly became a fan favorite. The GG Marmont range includes several sizes, colors and materials, including this bright yellow piece with gold-tone hardware. If you’re interested in more classic and smaller versions, the Gucci Marmont also comes in black and white.

The Dior Saddle bag

The Dior Saddle bag was once the brightest burning star in the bag world, but ultimately it became a star that  crashed down around a decade ago. Last year, however, saw the glorious return of this iconic bag thanks to Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuir – the first woman to lead creative in the label’s history. The reimagined saddle bag comes in a variety of colors and patterns, including the classic Dior monogram jacquard.

The Balenciaga Cabas Fringe Laundry Bag

Balenciaga’s stand out fringe leather bag comes with two top handles, an adjustable and removable crossbody strap and gold hardware. A shredded Balenciaga logo adorns the front of the bag, making it a true stand out piece on the streets of New York Fashion Week.

The Louis Vuitton Monogram Trocadero

The Louis Vuitton Monogram Trocadero: sturdy, vintage and always stylish. This circa 2004 bag is ideal for more than just fashion week – roomy enough to hold all you need to carry with you and a crossbody strap for easy wear.

The Louis Vuitton Monogram Egg Bag

The “Egg” bag debuted in Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2019 collection and has since sold out. This rare bag designed by Louis Vuitton former creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere has cowhide lining, gold-tone hardware and 2 Toron leather handles and a removable chain-link strap.

The Fendi Baguette Bag

Like Christian Dior’s Saddle Bag, the Fendi Baguette is another one of those “it” bags that once was highly favored and extremely blessed (thanks in large part to Carrie Bradshaw) before fizzling out, only to be resurrected once again. While the baguette shines in this classic Fendi Zucca pattern, it also comes in a variety of colors, including this purple version with silver-tone hardware.

The Bottega Veneta Pouch

Bottega Veneta’s Pouch is the bag of the moment. Billed as the season’s “chicest accessory,” this slouchy leather pouch was all over the streets of New York Fashion Week (and before that, Instagram). Roomy enough to fit the essentials, the shape makes for easy carrying under the arm or in hand. This “it” bag is quickly selling out, so gets yours while you still can.
