You’ve been asking for it since day one, and we’ve been listening. We are now offering buyers and sellers the choice to list Asks and make Bids on watches either with or without box & papers. So if you’re looking for the best price, and all you care about is getting a verified authentic watch, you can Bid on watches without box & papers or simply select ‘No Preference’ and you’ll be presented with the lowest Ask. However, if you’re more of a collector and looking for a full kit, you can browse watches with box & papers selected and you’ll see the Bids and Asks change to reflect that selection. The choice is yours.
Not sure what box & papers means? Watches with box & papers will include the original, manufacturer’s watch box, along with manufacture documentation verifying authenticity showing the reference and unique serial number attributed to it, and/or warranty information. Any additional booklets and instruction manuals are not required but will be shipped to the buyer if the seller has included them. Please note, manufacturer warranties are generally non-transferable.
Watches sold with box & papers must include all above documentation to pass StockX verification. If a watch does not pass verification, it will be returned to the seller.
Why are box & papers valuable to buyers? Well, there are a few reasons that buyers prefer to have B&Ps with their watch. First of which is that watches with a full kit will hold their value stronger than watches without (aka naked). Having B&Ps lends further credibility to the authenticity of the watch, as there are unique cards and documentation from the manufacturer containing the individual watch’s serial number. Lastly, if you’re looking for a watch to keep in the family for a few generations, having the B&Ps makes for a better keepsake in preserving the provenance of the watch.
