2019 has been quite the year for watches, filled with a bunch of great releases spanning from Casio all the way to Rolex. With everything that has dropped, we at StockX kept track of the numbers and saw just what watches made the list for best sellers of the year.

Rolex:

Rolex takes the crown as the top selling brand of 2019. That shouldn’t come as any surprise as the brand has hashed out some great pieces since the beginning of the year. Their most noteworthy release was the return of the Rolex GMT Batman on Jubilee, which has boosted the sale of their other GMT models such as the first Batman, 116710BLNR, and the Pepsi on Jubilee, 126710BLRO

The GMT wasn’t the only model getting shown love, with the Submariner being a close second for the swiss watchmaker. Both the Date 116610 and Dateless 114060 classic and colorful ‘Hulk’ 116610LV all delivered strong numbers, with all three models selling for way above retail!

Omega:

Why fix what isn’t broken? That sure is true when it comes to our next entry, the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. This watch is a certified classic and has kept most of its original look and feel in-tact since it’s trip to the moon back in 1969. Not only is it a historical watch, but it also isn’t hard on the eyes. With its chronograph dial and sleek design, it is not hard to understand why the Omega Speedmaster has made the list of top watches sold on StockX.

Casio:

We would be doing a complete disservice if we did not mention Casio on this list. The Japanese watch brand has been making all the right moves. Following all of the momentum from G-Shock’s 35th anniversary in 2018 — which lead to a slew of collaborations ranging from A$AP Ferg to BAPE — Casio has been a hit on StockX this entire 2019. Two watches that are responsible for such a strong year were the GMWB5000GD-9 Gold and GMWB5000D-1 White. Each watch was a re-issue of the brand’s classic B5000 watch but with a full metal build and shiny color change. These two combinations made for a high volume and high demand on StockX!

Apple:

Wearable tech has been one of the leading advancements in horology, with the Apple Watch being the poster child. Since its unveiling back in 2014, the Apple Watch has improved with every new model. The release of their Series 5 from earlier this year has helped spike volume and sales of the Series 4, with many users selling their 4 for a lower cost to make room for the 5 and help supplement the cost of the newer model. Whichever you go for, each Apple Watch that has released holds value in its own right, and is a great addition to anyone’s wrist.

Tudor:

When it comes to watchmaking, Tudor’s Black Bay GMT hits all of the right notes. It has color, it’s practical, and with additional GMT functionality, it’s hard to dislike this Pepsi-colored Black Bay.

2019 was not short of variety when it came to watch releases. We saw a lot of innovative pieces that only left us hungry for more and hopefully 2020 can help curb our appetite. Heres to a new decade filled with pleasant surprises!
