Virgil Abloh delivers his first signature model with Nike after years of putting his own spin on classic silhouettes from the Swoosh. Learn more about the other releases that are set for this week from Yeezy, Nike Air Max, and SB.

Nike Off-White Rubber Dunk

It’s surprising to note that Virgil Abloh has never made a signature Nike sneaker. Sure he’s added his Off-White notes to many of the Swoosh’s silhouettes but never made his own sneaker. This week’s Nike Rubber Dunk release finally debuts the fashion designer’s first signature sneaker, putting him in the space of fellow fashion designers Kanye West and Jerry Lorenzo, as each worked with Nike to create something from scratch.

As its name suggests, the upper is composed of rubber accents throughout with a mix of synthetic leather and mesh for breathability. The raw-edged tongue adds that deconstructed look that’s consistent with other Off-White and Nike collabs. Finally, the midsole continues the rubber theme with rubber enclosures around the Air Bubble unit.

Find the Nike Off-White Rubber Dunk to release on Thursday, October 1st. The Black pair will release in the US, the University Blue exclusive to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and University Gold to China and Asia-Pacific.

Air Max 90 Laser Blue

2020 marks the fourth return of the Nike Air Max 90 Laser Blue. For those that don’t know, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the legendary Air Max 90 model, and Nike has brought back the runner in its original form. With the major role out of new colorways and the revamped silhouette, it was only a matter of time before the Laser Blue was to make a comeback.

Fans of the classic Nike Air Max 90 model will love everything about this colorway’s return. The upper is constructed of white leather with grey suede Swoosh and a black mudguard. Hits of Laser Blue appear throughout to give the sneaker it’s signature look.

Look for the Nike Air Max 90 Laser Blue to make its return Friday, October 2nd, for $140 on the SNKRS app and other Nike stockists.

Yeezy 350 V2 Carbon

Kanye West and adidas just can’t seem to take a day off and that’s evident in the latest Yeezy 350 V2 Carbon. October’s release marks the 12th colorway of the favorite 350 V2 model and this colorway’s dark-hued upper makes it the perfect piece of footwear for fall.

The Yeezy 350 V2 Carbon holds all of the familiar elements that make the silhouette so popular; breathable Primeknit solid black mesh with its signature side stripe, ribbed patterned off-white midsole, and classic BOOST cushioning make the 350 V2 Carbon easy to love and easy to wear.

Catch the Yeezy 350 V2 Carbon to release on Friday, October 2rd, for $200 on Yeezy Supply and other Yeezy stockists.

Nike Dunk High Slam Jam

The Nike Dunk has seen a monumental return in 2020 and the latest Slam Jam collaboration continues the model’s hot streak. The Italian boutique has its fair share of signature colorways on some of Nike’s most popular silhouettes, like the Blazer Mid ‘77 and Air Force 1. This time, they’re adding their touch to one of this year’s most talked about sneakers.

The Nike Dunk Slam Jam delivers two colorways of the popular basketball model in black and pure platinum. Each pair features a mix of materials on the upper, including leather, nubuck, and rubber. The Swoosh has a translucent gummy-like texture to match the translucent midsole. The tongue tag features an upside-down “Nike” logo, a theme that Slam Jam is known for since they flipped the Swoosh on their last Nike Blazer collaboration.

The Nike Dunk Slam Jam will see two releases for each colorway. The pure platinum pair will drop first on Saturday, October 3rd through an exclusive raffle on SlamJam.com. The black pair will follow as a wider release on Wednesday, October 30th. The retail price will be $120.

Nike SB Dunk High Atlas Lost At Sea

Continuing on the collaborations train is a new project between west coast skate shop Atlas and Nike SB on the Dunk High. Dubbed “Lost At Sea,” the skateboard sneaker brings attention to the “The Great Spill of 1990” where a cargo ship from Korea to the U.S. spilled out over 61,000 pairs of Nike sneakers into the sea after a storm. Some of the sneakers washed up on a Californian shore, including pairs of the Air Flight 90. This collaboration takes cues from the retro sneaker.

If a sneaker were to ever mimic a washed-up pair of Air Flight 90s, the Nike SB Dunk High Atlas does it very well. For starters, the embroidery on the tongue pays homage to enough to the cross-training shoe, showing off the Atlas brand name while miming the sneaker’s similar script. Moving down to the upper, it is entirely covered in faint sail and blue colors that are chipping away, adding to its distressed motif. Lastly, the yellowing midsole wraps up the collaboration to complete the old look to the new collaboration. A boat key float hangtag ensures these pairs will find their way to safety if they suffer the same wet fate as the pairs that inspired them.

The uniquely developed Nike SB Dunk High Atlas Lost At Sea is set to release on Friday, October 2nd, at Nike SB stockists.
