Over the years, Supreme has established several well-known and often annually expected collaborations. Examples are The North Face, who Supreme has already collaborated with this year and four times last year, or Vans, who theyāve also already collaborated with this year. While the āUsual Suspectāsā of Supreme collaborations are ever-anticipated, each seasonās new collaborations always come with the hope, at least from fans of the brand, that that collaboration will also become something of a long-term collaborative relationship. Lacoste is the perfect example of a brand that could easily become a long-term collaboration, having now worked with Supreme for two straight years, with the hopeful anticipation of a third this year. Spring/Summer 2017
Supremeās first collaboration with Lacoste came in the spring of 2017, delivering a comprehensive tennis themed collection. Supremeās first collection with Lacoste comes across very similarly to Supremeās inaugural collaborations with other brands in that it was mostly Supreme adding their branding and a slight twist to several classic Lacoste garments. The best examples of this come in the form of the Supreme x Lacoste Harrington Jacket which simply features the word āSupremeā opposite the Lacoste Alligator. Subtle yet tasteful details are delivered through items like the Pique Crewneck, which features an embossed Supreme Lacoste collaborative logo, and the Tennis Sweater, which features the same collaborative Supreme and Lacoste logo on multiple well-done colorways. The collaboration does not stray from Lacosteās tasteful tennis roots but instead adds flare to several classic items in way that make you question what about it truly stands out. Spring/Summer 2018
After releasing their first Lacoste collection one year earlier, Supreme x Lacoste returned for a second collaborative release in April of 2018. If their first collaborative effort with the Tennis/Lifestyle brand was dipping their toe in the water, their second collaboration was taking the full plunge. What starts with larger Supreme branding (via the Crewnecks) than the previous selection eventually turns into full velour sweatsuits and polos and lands on 3M reflective nylon anoraks and track pants. From color to fabric to accessories, Supreme made their mark on the collection with far more flair than had been seen just one year before whilst still preserving Lacosteās traditional aesthetic. Fitting in perfectly with the yearās trend, the two brands also released both shoulder and waist bags, of which over 1200 have been sold on StockX. Highlights from the playfully colorful tennis collection include the pink and white colorblocked Wool Varsity Jacket and the Light Blue Nylon Anorak.
