Throughout the years, Louis Vuitton has collaborated with a multitude of different artists and streetwear brands. Vuitton’s first collaboration with Stephen Sprouse in 2001 caused quite the frenzy, setting the bar for all future LV collabs to come. 1.) Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami
The LV x Murakami collection debuted on the Spring Summer runway of 2003. The collection was then seen on supermodels and it girls worldwide, (Shoutout to Paris Hilton). For those of you who don’t know, Murakami is a Japanese contemporary artist whose best known for his lively and animated works. He’s also worked with the likes of Kanye West for his album cover art on both “Graduation” back in 2007 and “Kids See Ghosts” in 2018. Fast forward a decade and then some, the collab made a significant comeback with celebrities such as the Kardashians, who have been seen rocking throwback Murakami Multicolore mini bags.

2.) Louis Vuitton x Supreme
Hypebeasts rejoice! One of the most buzz-worthy collabs LV has ever had, Supreme x Louis Vuitton , was first unveiled at men’s Paris fashion week and then dropped the beginning of summer of ‘17. Media outlets had a field day when news first dropped of Supreme teaming up with the French luxury fashion house under the creative vision of Kim Jones, (who is now the creative director of Dior). The collection included six bags to be exact – including a duffle, backpack, messenger and fanny pack. Celebs such as Hailey Bieber and Jaden Smith were spotted rocking pieces from this quintessential collab.

3.) Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kasuma
Critically acclaimed contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kasuma primarily works in painting and sculptures. LV’s then creative director Marc Jacobs *insert prayer hands emoji* visited Kasuma’s studio in 2006 and convinced the 83-year-old artist to do a collab with the French fashion house. The collection was released in 2012, and featured a bold polka-dotted pattern, a whimsical twist on the the iconic LV monogram that reflected Kasuma’s past exhibitions.

4.) Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse
Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse was one of the most iconic collaborations of all time. This collection also released during the Marc Jacobs era, when he was the creative director for the fashion house. It debuted in 2001, featuring a graffiti covered take on LV classics such as the Speedy 30. Jacobs revisited the Stephen Sprouse collection again in 2009, paying homage to the late artist and fashion designer’s pop/punk vibe.

5.) Louis Vuitton x Virgil Abloh
Last but certainly not least, designer of Off-White, entrepreneur, and DJ (ugh can he get any cooler?) Virgil Abloh took the French Luxury brand by storm when he became the creative director of Men’s Louis Vuitton collection in 2018, taking over the role from friend (and mentor )Kim Jones, who is now the creative vision for Dior. Abloh’s first collection for LV, (Men’s SS19) was inspired by the Wizard of Oz, featuring the now iconic iridescent Prism Keepall.
