Air Jordan 1 Retro Reverse Shattered Backboard

*UPDATED With Pics* There is a new release date for the Reverse Shattered Backboard Air Jordan 1 Retro, which is one of the next sneaker releases from Jordan Brand to capture that “OG” feel.

The first variation of the Shattered Backboard Air Jordan 1 was inspired by one of the stops on Michael Jordan’s “tour” of other countries in which Nike sponsored exhibition games back in 1985. This particular stop was in Italy. Naturally, as the nickname suggests, Michael broke one of the backboards with a slam dunk during the game. MJ played part of the game for one team and part of the game for the other, so the second release of the Shattered Backboard inspired Jordan 1 carries the orange, white and black colors of the “home” inspired jerseys from that day. The first drop of the Shattered Backboard inspired Jordan 1 featured a black tongue and toebox surround with an orange toe, while the “Reverse Shattered Backboard” AJ1 features a white (officially an off-white called Sail) tongue and toebox with a orange surround. The second version, aka Shattered 2.0, of this Air Jordan 1 Retro releases on October 1st and will be an “OG” release, meaning it will feature the Nike Air branding and high-top cut that the original Air Jordans featured back in the day. Not to mention, Bids have already been placed above retail price. The Reverse Shattered Backboard Jordan 1 is now set to drop on October 8th.
