Let’s all move forward confidently – Keep Ya Head Up, if you will – and not dwell on things outside of our control.
The first adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2
September 24 will bring the release of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Steel Grey. Or Beluga. Or Stealth Grey. Or Solar Red. Or big steel whale resell money maker. Who tf knows.
Depending on who you ask, the Steel Grey is either the first, second or third most anticipated Yeezy release of 2016. Your ranked order of anticipation will depend on A) if you remember that the 350 Pirate Black 2016 actually released in 2016; and B) whether your infant copped infant Yeezys from his infant reseller in infant day care.
No matter how much anticipation you have, or from where it comes, we still got data for you. We got average resell price for every adidas Yeezy Boost on StockX, as well as a month-by-month comparison of all adult 350s. Sorry North and Saint and Mini-Me.
And yes, the Yeezy 350 cleats (available on StockX HERE) are definitely our least anticipated Yeezy release of 2016. That is until they release the Yeezy 350 ice skates and roller blades (we’ve seen samples).
First, let’s see how Yeezys have been doing on StockX:
Key Insights:
- The average price on the 350 Pirate Black 2015 is still slightly higher than the 2016 version
- Most of the 950 are trading at close to retail…the Pirate Black 950 goes for less than retail
- With rumors of a restock/re-release, we are curious how the price on the 750 Light Brown will react
Now onto the main course to get you fully prepared for the release of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Steel Grey.
Key Insights:
- In general, all 350s took a hit following the Pirate Black restock. Adidas has a history of restocking valuable shoes, so a Yeezy restock was scary for both resellers and resell buyers alike
- Results so far in September (data current through 9/12) might imply that the imminent release of the 350 V2 is driving down resell prices on all other 350s
- ‘People say’ that the release of infant Yeezys caused a spike in prices of the 350 Turtledoves in August as responsible parents bought themselves and their children matching pairs. Yep. People say.
Now What?
Now we watch to see what happens on Saturday, September 24th. In the meantime, right now on StockX there are already Asks ranging from $1400 all the way up to $2500. You can get in on the pre-release Asking and Bidding action HERE.
