The Air Jordan 22 (XXII) is a silhouette inspired by the maneuverability of the F-22 Raptor Strike Fighter Jet. Also known as the AJ XX2, it’s available in different designs and colorways.
Air Jordan 22 sneakers are constructed with a full-grain leather upper with sharp lines that resemble the maneuverability of the F-22 Raptor. They also feature zig-zag stitching, which reflects the fighter jet’s ability to disrupt or conceal itself from the enemy radar. At the back of this shoe, a 3M reflective material with a Jordan camouflage pattern printed on it changes its appearance in different light conditions. The Jumpman logo on the heel is only revealed at certain angles. Air Jordan 22 features a foam-backed quilted collar in a triangular pattern and a mesh tongue for breathability. The Independent Podular Suspension (IPS) used in previous versions is present in this release but with a new feature. This time, the cushioning pods are color-coded and square with a tiny tongue to pull them out.
Air Jordan 22 sneakers have a Phylon midsole that sits on a translucent rubber outsole with herringbone tread for traction. The outsole also features strategically mapped solid rubber pods with chevron-shaped patterns for multi-directional traction. For fit and protection, the Air Jordan XX2 features a variable-speed lacing system with an effective lace lock, titanium-coated eyelets, and an extended heel counter. The molded TPU vents, titanium shank plate, and silver toe cap on the shoe also offer the right fit and protection. Air Jordan 22 sneakers are available in different colorways, including Black/Black, White/Varsity Red–Black, Black/Varsity Red–Metallic Silver, and the Black/White Countdown Package (CDP). Player Exclusive (PE) shoes like the OG Melo PE and OG Ray Allen PE are also part of this selection.
