The Air Max 97 was an instant hit when it debuted in 1997. The shoe’s wavy and smooth appearance was quickly adopted by many. Nike has collaborated with the shoe before, but not quite like this. Made of modern and historical materials this rendition of the AM97 retailed for $1,425.

We’ll get to why. The upper is a mix of knit material and leather. The mix of light blue hues makes for a very smooth upper. It’s your classic AM97 that’s super clean and wearable. Now let’s get to what makes this shoe special. First is the cross that is tied to the laces. The cross is silver-colored with a golden Jesus. Then near the pinky toe is “MT. 14:25” stitched in black. That’s the Bible verse where Jesus walks on water. This brings us to the most insane detail of all. Every other AM97 features an almost full-length air bubble.

The air bubble on these is filled with 60cc of holy water from the Jordan River! Now anyone who owns these can walk on the same water Jesus did. The Air Max 97 MSCHF x INRI Jesus Shoes originally released on October 8, 2019, at a retail price of $1,425.
