With colorful mineral infused graphics and high quality garments, Advisory Board Crystals has developed a cult-following at the intersection where spiritual wellness meets streetwear. Last year, the brand dropped twelve hoodies with GUESS for a eco-focused capsule titled, Planet Saving Information. Hoodies from that collection had to be purchased with a zine created to educate its readers on climate change. Advisory Board Crystals has returned with twelve more hoodies and a new zine this year as a part of their Planet Saving Information 2 collection. This year’s short zine focuses on California’s 2020 wildfires with the goal of starting conversations and provoking action by pushing the boundaries of readers’ thoughts and encouraging them to engage with the environment in ways they never have before. The brand opted for a different release method this year, ditching the single partner model and dropping each hoodie through a different retailer. Twelve different hoodies with their own unique graphics were released at Mr. Porter, Notre, Round 2 NY, Slam Jam, Smets, Union LA, Union Tokyo, END, SSENSE, GR8, Patron Of The New, and StockX via our DropX release model.
Each of this year’s hoodies are wild in their own way. Made from Advisory Board Crystals’ signature custom yarn knit, these heavyweight hoodies feature holographic detailing, inside out serged seams, and a puffy, multi-layered print process. No two graphics are the same between colors, and colorways like the natural, black, tan, and brown hoodies feature an all-over print covering the front and sleeves. Though each colorway is different from the others, all twelve hoodies do share the same graphic imagery of an earth on the back of the hoodie with the phrase “SUPPORT THE FUTURE of our crystals.” For verification purposes, each hoodie also features an authenticity label, and if you’re worried about losing your colorful new hoodie, the right arm of each piece features an information label to fill out yourself.
Perhaps the most distinctive of the Planet Saving Information 2 hoodies is the patterned colorway that dropped exclusively through StockX’s DropX model. Limited to just 146 units, Advisory Board Crystals partnered with StockX to drop this neutral floral all-over print hoodie. The piece features an massive vintage-style “Energy Over Everything” graphic on the front that’s been infused with a natural, one-of-a-kind mineral specimen, creating a unique glittery multi-layered print. Both arms feature their own graphics as well, one with repeating tao imagery that’s been intertwined with the words “you & me”, and the other with repeating peace signs that are intertwined with the phrase “let’s all just get along.” For those looking to get a fit off, engage their minds, and support the environment, Advisory Board Crystals has set up a trifecta just for you.
