Supremeā€™s Spring/Summer 2021 season came to an official end last week, tapping out after 20 straight releases. Though the brand will be settling down for the off-season, the Supreme Pick of the Week will keep on truckinā€™. This week, weā€™re taking a look at one of last seasonā€™s most coveted pieces: the Supreme Frayed Logos Denim Trucker Jacket.

There are few apparel items more integral to American style than the Trucker Jacket. Originally developed by Leviā€™s in the early 1900ā€™s, the Trucker Jacket weā€™ve all come to know so well today has seen its share of iterations. Leviā€™s first jacket was conceived more than a century ago in 1905 and since then, itā€™s received two official updated silhouette changes from the brand. In the mid-1950ā€™s Leviā€™s delivered their first update, rolling out the Type II, which featured an extra front pocket and a slightly boxier fit but the Trucker Jacket design most of us are familiar with is the Leviā€™s Type III.

The Leviā€™s Type III Trucker Jacket was first made available in the late 60ā€™s and is characterized by its high front pockets and slimming vertical stitching that starts wide at the shoulders and angle in towards the waist. The Supreme Frayed Logos Denim Trucker Jacket, as well as most other modern truckers, is based off of the Leviā€™s Type III. In terms of design, Supremeā€™s Trucker Jacket features some slight changes like lower side pockets and a more narrow collar than the original, but has the same basic shape.

Covered in Frayed Supreme logos, this jacket was destined for stardom from the moment it was featured in the Spring/Summer 2021 lookbook. While it wouldā€™ve been easier for the brand to just print the logos on the jacket, Supreme delighted their fans through the Frayed Logos Trucker Jacketā€™s details and consistency. Rounding out the jacketā€™s modified Type III design are two adjuster tabs on the back and a Supreme logo patch.

The Supreme buying and selling landscape is changing. For most Supreme products released in Spring/Summer 2021, resale premiums were down. During the last offseason, we reported that the Supreme Box Logo is the most affordable that itā€™s ever been, and the same is becoming true for even more Supreme products. This last season saw the lowest resale prices for The North Face jackets ever and the most popular t-shirt of Supremeā€™s Summer Tees release is consistently selling for under $100. As a whole, it would seem that Supreme is becoming more and more affordable on the resale market.

But there are still some pieces, like the Supreme Frayed Logos Denim Trucker Jacket, that demand price premiums of the astronomical variety. This jacketā€™s average resale price is $586, a price premium of more than 240%, but thatā€™s just the average. At its highest price, the Supreme Frayed Logos Denim Trucker Jacket has been resold for more than $900, a price premium of nearly 400%. Equally comparable to this is the Supreme Blessings Ripstop Shirt, which has been resold for more than $1,200, a price premium of more than 700%. While it may be true that Supreme as a brand is becoming more affordable, itā€™s also true that theyā€™re still releasing certain in-demand pieces, like the Supreme Frayed Logos Denim Trucker Jacket and Blessings Ripstop Shirt, on a very limited basis.
