Weā€™re officially nine weeks into Supreme Fall/Winter 2021 and the season has seen some significant collaborations so far. But while Thrasher and the New York Yankees are exciting, there is no bigger Supreme collaboration than The North Face, especially during Fall/Winter. For Week 9, Supreme and The North Face have come together for their first release of the season. As was rumored at the beginning of the season, the collaboration has brought back the outerwear brandā€™s popular archival Steep Tech line, which features this weekā€™s Pick of the Week, the Supreme The North Face Steep Tech Apogee Jacket.

For those new to Supreme, The North Face has become a tentpole collaborator for the streetwear brand. The two have been officially collaborating for more than a decade and often release two or three collections each season, even before they were owned by the same parent company. In the past, Supreme The North Face Jackets have rivaled even Box Logos when it comes to resale market demand and some of the rarest of these jackets resell today for thousands of dollars.Ā

Supreme The North Face

Supreme and The North Face have returned to the outerwear brandā€™s popular Steep Tech line for Fall/Winter 2021. Steep Tech was created by The North Face in partnership with extreme skier Scot Schmidt in 1991. It was one of The North Faceā€™s first athlete designed collections and was created to provide high quality, functional ski gear. In the past, Supreme and The North Face have collaborated on Steep Tech designs just one other time, in the Spring/Summer season of 2016.

The Supreme The North Face Apogee Jacket was released in three different colors and is just as functional as it is beautiful. On the functional side of things, the Apogee Jacket excels, achieving the highest levels of water and wind resistance that The North Face gives to its outerwear. On top of that, this jacket features a stowable hood and multiple zippers for ventilation that give this jacket a functional tech look. As far as appearance goes, the jacket features an all-over Supreme logo print that fills in the empty spaces not occupied by The North Face Steep Tech branding. The white colorway of the jacket stands out most, featuring Supreme logos of many different colors that gives off a heavy confetti vibe.

Aside from the three colors of the Apogee Jacket, Fall/Winter 2021ā€™s Supreme The North Face collection delivered 22 other new apparel items. From the Steep Tech line, Supreme and The North Face released a Fleece Jacket alongside the Apogee Jacket and outside of Steep Tech, the brands also dropped a new Coldworks 700-Down Fill Parka. The partnership also featured the release of non-outerwear pieces as well, including hoodies, t-shirts, backpacks, and headbands.Ā

If the rumors are true, this collection is just the first of several Supreme The North Face collections to release this season. Considering the fact that weā€™re already close to halfway through Fall/Winter 2021, itā€™s very possible that the next collaboration could be right around the corner. Pair that with Supremeā€™s somewhat curious decision to not include a Nuptse or Mountain Jacket, historically the two most popular collaborative The North Face silhouettes, and it becomes likely that whatever is coming next is going to be big. With that in mind, weā€™re expecting another winter-ready Supreme The North Face collaboration in the very near future.
