Supreme’s most popular collaboration has returned for Spring/Summer 2021 Week 14. For their second The North Face delivery of the season, Supreme has released laid back essentials and water-resistant outerwear that’ll comfortably handle the stormier days of summer. This collaborative release follows the two brands’ recent Spring/Summer 2021 Week 5 drop, which featured metal stud printed Mountain and Nuptse Jackets as well as an all-over print Ice Climb T-shirt and Hoodie. The Summit Series collection included 33 new Supreme The North Face pieces, evenly divided in design between taped seam apparel and accessories in addition to pigment printed crewnecks, t-shirts, and sweatpants.

In terms of outerwear, this Supreme The North Face release provides a warmer weather ready collection of lightweight water-resistant outerwear. While perhaps not as well known for their shell jackets as a brand like Arc’teryx, the collaborative The North Face tape seam shell jacket that was released as a part of this collection isn’t messing around. The North Face’s Summit Series is made to withstand extreme conditions, particularly in colder climates. This jacket is what they would consider to be a Layer 5 piece of outerwear, a protective shell made to be both breathable and durable. For those more interested in form than function, this Supreme The North Face collection also provides a water-resistant Coaches Jacket, which features taped seams as well.

If any theme encompassed this entire release, it was the inclusion of bright, head-turning colors. The collection’s taped seam details deliver an eye-popping contrasted look in the colorful colorways that will demand attention both on the streets and the slopes. Though the crewnecks, t-shirts, and sweatpants from the collection hardly share any resemblance to the tape seam outerwear and accessories, they’re nothing if not colorful.

Supreme and The North Face’s Pigment Printed Crewnecks, T-shirts, and Sweatpants carry a generally different vibe than the outerwear they were released with. Each of the five colors of crewneck, t-shirt, and sweatpant give off their own worn-in vintage vibe, quite the deviation from the more technical-focused tape seam pieces. The crewnecks, t-shirts, and sweatpants all feature an embroidered Supreme The North Face logo on the front with no other branding to be found on the outside of the garment.

The second Supreme The North Face release of Spring/Summer 2021 marks the third time this season that the streetwear brand has partnered up with their new fellow VF Corporation umbrella brands. Just two weeks ago, Supreme and Timberland delivered their first apparel collection of the season and a Vans collaboration is expected to release. In the past, Supreme has collaborated with The North Face, Timberland, and Vans: just three of VF Corporation’s 20 brands. Most of the VF Corporation umbrella brands don’t make a ton of sense for Supreme to work with but considering that Dickies are the go-to pants for skaters around the world, perhaps we can expect the exploration of that partnership in the future.
