Luxury streetwear king Virgil Abloh has delivered once again, this time in his Pre-Spring 2020 collection for Louis Vuitton. Drawing on the fashion brand’s archives while relying on his signature style, Virgil’s vision comes through as vividly as ever. The Off-White creator has taken core Louis Vuitton pieces, reviving them in new textures and patterns, while dipping into the long spanning heritage of Louis Vuitton.
Take the use of the Monogram Legacy for example, a nod to LV of decades past, which features a browner trim with a bit of patina. The 1990s are well and alive in this collection as well, with several color block pieces in classic LV staples, like the Christopher backpack. Of course, Virgil employs his use of innovative materials and modifications yet again, giving the Keepall wavy side bands, and using high-quality PVC as well as interlocking chains with pin closures.
