Back in September we teamed up with savant sneaker designer (and head ATL Hawks cheerleader) Larry Luk on a project for Finish Line called “12 Days of LeBron 12.” In the days leading up to the launch of the LeBron 12, Larry and I conceived of twelve Cleveland-themed colorways – a.k.a. “CLEVEways”. I created the storyline and wove in the sneakerheaddata. He brought them to life. The result was a 12-part / 12-day series on the Finish Line blog where we teased the following days post with a Cleveland-themed hint. Below is a recap of that work, including every picture, every hint and a link to each original post. Enjoy.
Interesting anecdote from this post: Mark Price’s wife, Laura, got a hold of this post via a tweet . . . she LOVED it. She spent the rest of the day tweeting and RT’ing the pic and blog.
Day 2 Hint: California Penal League
Day 2: Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn
Day 3 Hint: Coburn Haskell
Day 4 Hint: Clarence Crane’s rings
Day 5 Hint: LeBron’s favorite beef patty
Day 6 Hint: o = aw after church
Day 7 Hint: Positive 365 Days
Day 7: Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Day 8 Hint: Lifetime club record of 16 wins, 35 losses

Finally, we leave you with the one piece held back from the Finish Line blog…the LeBron 12 What The CLEVEway:
Thanks again to Larry Luk for working with us on this. It’s always a pleasure to create something fun with him (see: The Color of Sneaker Money and Sneaker Math). So if you see him on the street make sure to show him some love. And don’t worry, you’ll have no trouble recognizing him, he’s the (only) guy wearing a Kyle Korver Threezus t-shirt.
What do you think? Which LeBron 12 CLEVEway is the best? Which hints did you get?
