As part of the Supreme Fall/Winter 2017 collection the brand collaborated with controversial artist Andres Serrano on an assortment of product. The partnership resulted in tees, hoodies, caps and sneakers. The Roman Catholic artist is known for focusing on sensitive topics and mixing them together. Urine is one fluid that tends to be part of his projects. Arguably his most well known piece is titled “Piss Christ” and is used in the collaboration. “Madonna & Child” is another piece that focuses on an item submersed in his own urine. Following a proven formula, although not ass controversial as his other piece, photographs of “Madonna” were part of a series for the artist. For the collection the image is added to the center of a classic all-cotton Supreme white tee. The image is the focus with no branding on the front. The back of the tee is where the artist and Supreme name were added. The Supreme Madonna & Child shirt released for the retail price of $44 online and at most Supreme shops on September 21st, 2017.
