To celebrate StockX's fifth anniversary, we met up with team members from around the globe to learn more about their experiences being on the StockX team.

This article is part 10 of 14 in the series: Five Years Of StockX

Elodie Prochet is a Marketing Manager for France who is based out of StockX’s London office. Since joining the team in the summer of 2019, Elodie has played a pivotal role in developing the platform experience for French StockX users. As part of StockX’s five-year anniversary celebration, we caught up with team members, including Elodie, to talk about life as a StockX team member.

The following has been lightly edited.

How did you hear about StockX, and why did you want to join the team?

Honestly, I randomly discovered StockX. I saw a super nice pair of Jordans on Instagram and looked for the name on Google, and I found it on StockX! It was the Jordan 11 Heiress Velvet. And like every StockX customer before me, I went to the website to find the pair that I wanted all my life. I thought, “It’s too good to be true!” since I never heard about StockX before and it wasn’t popular yet in Europe.

I start reading about the company, the story behind it, and I found it inspiring. I was also a sneaker collector and discovered that the company was looking for a French marketing manager to join the team. I am French, and I’m a marketing manager. I found it exciting to be able to help localize the StockX experience into my native language. So I applied, and here I am!

What is the most exciting aspect of working at StockX?

The fact that the brand is so new that almost everything needs to be done (laughs). We’ve done a lot of amazing things over the last 5 years, but I can’t wait to see how far we can go!

Your most memorable day on the job?

It was probably my first day. It was a summer day in London, and on the same day, I met the ops team in the morning to authenticate sneakers, and the office team in Soho in the afternoon. I just had time to introduce myself before I had to jump from one meeting to another and crack on!

What’s been the most surprising part of your job at StockX?

When you see how popular StockX is online, you would imagine the company has been around for quite a long time. But we’re only celebrating five years! To see what we achieved over the last five years, launching the site in six different languages, having offices and ops centers worldwide, it’s crazy.

How do you think the secondary market will change in the next 5 years?

The secondary market allows you to trade whatever you like, but also whenever you like. Something that sold out quickly is always now available on the secondary market. If you’re patient enough, you can even have the product for a great price. I would like to see the secondary market become even bigger with more diverse products, maybe furniture, books, records, etc. And if we can keep in mind sustainability as we expand, that’s a win-win.
