The upper of this women’s adidas NMD R1 is fashioned from a bright-yellow, stretchy textile knit that offers sock-like comfort. The fabric is crafted from 50% recycled polyester and 50% recycled Parley Ocean Plastic. Tonal synthetics form the side-panel 3-stripes as well as a wavy band stretching over the midfoot below the eyestays. The molded-plastic heel counter features embossed branding as it adds support. The solar-yellow Boost foam midsole with EVA plugs offers responsive cushioning and spring as you run. The rubber outsole in solar yellow provides grooves and vents for flexibility and treads for traction.
Our favorite detail of this sustainable women’s runner is the modified trefoil branding in black on the upper that shows the trefoil being formed, calling attention to the recycled nature of this shoe. The adidas NMD R1 Solar Yellow (Women's) was released on April 1, 2021, for $140 retail.
