The adidas NMD R1 Whiteout is a singular, eye-catching sneaker that stands out due to the upper covered with script.

The Whiteout iteration of the adidas NMD R1 features a white mesh upper covered in gray script that reads "The Brand with Three Stripes" in several different languages. A suede overlay in light tan covers the heel, which is itself covered in an off-white molded synthetic overlay with embossed adidas trefoil branding. The heel also sports a long gray heel pull tab to ease on/off. The laces thread through molded off-white overlays for a snug closure.

Our favorite part of this sneaker is the connection between the insole, midsole, and outsole. A gray insole features "boost" branding and has vents through which you can see the white midsole made of Boost foam for energy return and cushioning. EVA plugs in the midsole provide stability, while the gray rubber outsole also features vents for Boost expansion. The adidas NMD R1 Whiteout was released on July 8, 2016, for $108 retail.
