adidas has invited a number of brands to put their own spin on its iconic apparel and footwear through its Consortium project. It notably teamed up with Paris-based fashion brand Études in 2019 to create the adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Études.

This version of the adidas Ultra Boost featured a knit textile upper done up in a bright royal blue color that has become synonymous with Études. It also included a series of white stars to represent the European Union. Elsewhere, there was plenty of black incorporated into the mix, as it showed up on the full-length Boost midsole as well as on the shoe’s rubber outsole and the heel.

But in our expert opinion, the best part about this shoe was that it had branding from both adidas and Études on the tongue and the tab on the heel. It turned this into a true collaboration with both brands being well represented within the final design. The adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Études was released on September 14, 2018, for a retail price of $200.
