Product Description

Released during the December of 2007, the Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel-Lyte III "Solid Gold" reflected the bright and flashy colors of some of Fieg's earliest renditions of the GL3. Building on the success of his previous makeups with David Z and ASICS, Ronnie Fieg created the Solid Gold Gel Lyte 3, composed of golden-colored overlays and nylon toe box with a deep, black midsole. The Solid Gold GEL-Lyte 3 was created to represent and pay thanks to the high-end, luxurious nature of David Z's New York sneaker boutique long before RF ever opened the doors of Kith. Dropping for $130 alongside the "Stainless Steel" GEL-Lyte 3, with 200 pairs of each colorway available in-store and only 50 more available online through the shop's web-store, the Solid Gold GLIII was much more limited than we see releases today. Selling out within only a few minutes, the Solid Gold pack was the beginning of a monochromatic upper and contrasting midsole scheme that Ronnie Fieg would later become most well-known for. The success of the Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel-Lyte III "Solid Gold" propelled Ronnie and his ASICS collaborations forward, allowing for him to later create some of the brand's best-known and most sought-after sneakers.
