Kevin Durant has paid tribute to his late Aunt Pearl, who died from lung cancer in 2000, with a special edition of his Nike signature sneaker every year since entering the NBA. The Nike KD 8 Aunt Pearl was one of the many Aunt Pearl sneakers that he has helped design over the course of his NBA career.

The upper on this Aunt Pearl release featured a floral motif with this entire print done up in bright pink and purple colors. The pink could also be found down in the outsole, and the white used to create the midsole helped make all these colors stand out more prominently.

But in our expert opinion, the best part about this sneaker was the Kay Yow Cancer Fund logo that appeared on the heel. It celebrated the fact that the proceeds from this shoe were donated directly to this organization in the name of Aunt Pearl. The Nike KD 8 Aunt Pearl was released on February 22, 2016, for a retail price of $200.
