The Nike Metcon 9 AMP Phantom Black is a workout shoe that upgrades previous versions of the Metcon by adding a rubber rope wrap for climbing ropes and a Hyperlift plate in the heel.
The Hyperlift plate is larger than the one in previous models and provides stability during lower-body exercises. The upper is made of durable yet breathable mesh in Phantom, while the heel is covered in a woven textile material. The rubber rope wrap extends around the middle of the sneaker and is semi-translucent. It partially covers the black Swoosh on the outer side panel, which is one of two Swoosh logos on the sneaker. The midsole features soft foam on the inside and firm foam on the outside, while the rubber outsole has a traction pattern designed for dynamic exercises.
