What Went Down During ASW Chicago⎜StockX

With ASW 2020 heading to Chicago, the basketball and sneaker stars aligned for everyone to step their game up, including your friends at StockX.  But we wanted to do more than just throw a great party or educate people about our marketplace, we felt it was necessary to make a bigger impact on the host city that has given so much to the game. Which is why we decided to partner with Chicago legend Don C and the Common Ground Foundation to make sure we gave back to the city that started it all. We linked up with Union LA, Hebru Brantley, Melody Ehsani, Vic Mensa, Awake NY, and Easy Otabor to create three exclusive items that celebrate Chicago’s legacy. Each was only limited to 300 pieces and exclusively available to win via $10 donation from February 10 to February 16, 2020. Not only that, seven lucky winners also received a custom-designed RIMOWA case created by each collaborator, pre-packed with all of the exclusive pieces and a pair of the Air Force 1 High Just Don All-Star Blues.

The end result was over $26,000 in net proceeds going to Chicago’s own Common Ground Foundation, empowering local high school students through mentor programs that focus on character development, healthy living, financial literacy, social impact, and creative expression.

But we didn’t stop there. Seeing as it was ASW, there were major sneaker drops happening all over the city. To help give all of those fortunate enough to cop the easiest flip possible, we set up our legendary Drop-Off inside our activation space behind RSVP Gallery all weekend long also had custom-designed exhibits of each collaborative item from our charity campaign, showcased notable All-Star sneakers from the past, and hit the airwaves with Dash Studios from our lounge to interview some of the brightest stars in Chicago.

So yeah, we did a lot. But despite all the action, and some seriously cold weather, the vibes were infectiously warm and happy. With everyone more than happy to celebrate the windy city for basketball’s biggest weekend, and continue to spread that love.
