The Horological Society of New York (HSNY) is bringing their traveling education classes to Detroit, and you’re invited to be a part of it. The HSNY is a foundation dedicated to “advancing the art and science of horology” and they’ve been doing just that since 1866. To fulfill that mission, they have a traveling education series, that puts their professional watchmakers on the road, hosting session to teach enthusiasts and collectors how a mechanical watch works, including studying the gear train, winding and setting mechanisms and escapement components. It’s a rare opportunity and we’ve decided to host a weekend of classes right here in Detroit.
