As all card collectors know, the condition of a box is everything. A damaged box could mean damaged cards, which is no good. At StockX, we have established condition standards for all boxes of cards that trade through our platform. Boxes that do not meet our standards will fail verification, so make sure you follow the guidelines below for a smooth transaction. Once you have determined everything is good to go, package your trading cards up in an appropriately sized shipping box, and make sure there is plenty of padding to prevent damage in transit to one of our Authentication Centers.

Things to check:

The box is in its original shrink wrap and free of major dents

Make sure the box is in its original factory-sealed shrinkwrap. For sports trading card boxes, and Pokémon booster boxes this means the box is in its branded shrinkwrap. For Pokémon Elite Trainer Boxes the shrink wrap will be the factory clear shrinkwrap. The box may have small indentations in it, but any dents that could cause damage to the cards inside will fail verification.

Box Condition must be free of major dents or damage that may cause harm to the cards inside.

The box has no major tears in the shrink wrap

Sports boxes should have no tearing in them whatsoever, but we understand that sometimes the shrinkwrap might tear on some Pokémon products when leaving the factory, such as Elite Trainer Boxes. However, if the tearing is excessive or exceeds one inch in diameter or length it will not pass verification.

Excessive tears in the shrink wrap will cause your box to fail.

Products in the box are not loose or out of place

The packs of cards should not be moving around freely inside the box. While some packs may move slightly in transit, the packs and promo cards should not be significantly out of place within the box.

The contents should not be moving freely around the box.
