Supreme loves a good logo resurrection and in recent years, it’s become instrumental to their growth. For their Spring/Summer 2021 Week 8 release, the brand is back up to their old shenanigans, reviving their FTP Arc Logo and putting it on a hoodie for the first time since 2015. The Week 8 release was packed full of potential hits, with eight new t-shirts that dropped as a part of their Spring Tees release, and a previously unseen Miles Davis Skate Deck. But it was ultimately the FTP Logo Hoodie that took the cake as this week’s Supreme Pick of the Week.

If the Supreme FTP Arc Logo Hoodie looks familiar, you’ve probably been following Supreme for at least six years. Supreme’s FTP Arc Logo has been used by the brand several times in the past and it derives its design from a west-coast hip-hop hit: NWA’s Straight Outta Compton. If you look closely at the album’s front cover and the graphic, you can tell that there are some clear similarities. This design is just one of the label’s many nods to the world of hip-hop and over the years it’s become one of the more popular Supreme logos. Before this iteration, it was most recently used during Supreme’s Spring/Summer 2015 collaboration with the New York Yankees. The logo appeared on the front of a hoodie that looks nearly identical to this season’s and on the back of jerseys and varsity jackets. Fans will notice that the only real difference between the Supreme FTP Arc Logo Hoodie and the Yankees Hoodie is the absence of any Yankees or MLB branding. Considering that the Yankees Hoodies now trade on StockX for price premiums of well over 500%, the Supreme FTP Arc Logo Hoodie is the perfect opportunity to grab this highly coveted design.

At the rate Supreme is going, it’s beginning to look like no heritage logo is safe from being reused. Supreme has gone deep into the vault, reviving their rarest and most popular logos of old over the last two years. Last spring it was the Supreme Motion Logo, which found itself utilized on hoodies, t-shirts, and beanies. In FW20, Supreme brought back their Futura Logo, a design that hadn’t been used in years, in the form of crewnecks, t-shirts, and beanies. Supreme is going all out with the logo resurrection this season, bringing back the FTP Logo, Classic Logo and the KAWS Chalk Logo. The Supreme KAWS Chalk Logo was last used in 2011 on t-shirts and was released earlier this season in hoodie form as a part of the first drop of the year. The rejuvenated Supreme Classic logo can be found on the Five Boroughs T-shirt, which was also released alongside the KAWS Chalk Logo as a part of Week 1. With more of the brand’s popular heritage logos being reused every season, it’s possible that we’ll eventually see Supreme exhaust their entire catalog. So if there’s an old Supreme Logo that you’ve always dreamed of getting your hands on, just be patient, there’s a good chance it’s coming sometime soon.
