StockX today announced it has appointed Sam Lerer Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Lerer has served as Interim CFO and Strategic Advisor at StockX since July 2025. Since that time, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial operations, enhancing planning and forecasting, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. He will now assume the role on a permanent basis effective immediately.

Before joining StockX, Lerer spent more than a decade at General Atlantic, where he led the firm’s 2019 investment in the company — marking the beginning of his long-standing relationship with the platform. He has also served on StockX’s Board of Directors for over five years. During his time at General Atlantic, Lerer was involved in investments in several of the world’s most iconic consumer technology companies, including Uber, Airbnb, and Snapchat.

In his new role, Lerer will report to Chief Executive Officer Greg Schwartz and serve as a member of the company’s Leadership Team.

“Sam brings a rare combination of deep financial expertise, marketplace insight, and a strong understanding of StockX,” said Greg Schwartz, CEO of StockX. “Having worked closely with him over several years — and more recently in his role as Interim CFO — we’ve seen firsthand his ability to expand our strategic focus, bring rigor to our financial operations, and support the business as we scale. His leadership will be instrumental to our growth as we continue to evolve our marketplace.”

With extensive experience across marketplace models, capital allocation, and strategic planning, Lerer’s background will further strengthen StockX’s finance organization and support the company’s continued focus on disciplined growth, marketplace innovation, and long-term value creation.

“StockX sits at the intersection of culture, commerce, and technology, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing its evolution up close over the past several years,” said Lerer. “Stepping into the CFO role is a natural next step, and I’m excited to continue working alongside the team to build on the strong foundation in place while helping drive the company’s next phase of growth.”

Lerer holds degrees in Economics (with a focus on Finance) and Computer Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology. He also serves on the board of the Scratch Foundation, a non-profit organization originally founded at the MIT Media Lab that operates Scratch, the world’s largest creative learning community for kids.
