A pair of watches from Oris that do some actual good for the world.

Oris continues their involvement with The Ocean Project to help preserve and protect vulnerable oceanic habitats, and this year they are releasing 2 new Aquis diver’s watches to highlight those efforts. The two watches feature rich sunburst blue dials and bezels, with a few dashes of color thrown in for good measure. Here’s a closer look at each.

Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III

The first is an Aquis date limited to 2,000 examples. It’s offered in a 43mm steel case and features a unique circular date display in the center of the dial. The bezel adds an orange pop of color against the warm blue, which is echoed by the date pointer on the dial. Proceeds from this watch will directly support the coral planting activities of Reef Restoration Foundation, an Australian non-profit.

Oris Clean Ocean Limited Edition

The second watch, also an Aquis, is a more accessible daily diver with a 39.5mm steel case. The only complication present is a date aperture situated at 6 o’clock on the dial. This allows for an unimpeded experience of the blue dial, which is not a bad thing. This watch will support the Pacific Garbage Screening organization, who work to capture discarded plastics before they enter the ocean. The caseback holds a medallion made of recycled PET plastic in honor of their efforts. This watch is also limited to 2,000 examples.

Both watches carry Sellita based movements and are priced between $2,300 and $2,550.
