Richard Anderson | Recruiting Coordinator | Detroit, MI
Richard joined StockX in October 2021 as a Customer Service Representative, quickly making an impact across major initiatives; from launching NFT Support to building VIP Chat/Phone and supporting the Walmart integration. He grew into the VIP (now PE) Agent role in August 2022, and by March 2023, he was promoted to Senior CS Specialist, recognized for his leadership and ability to elevate the customer experience. In 2024, Richard was successful in the Xplore program as a Talent Acquisition Xplorer, where he discovered his passion for all things recruiting. So when a full-time opening appeared in the TA team in January 2025, he went for it and earned the role of Recruiting Coordinator as of January 2025. We’re proud to celebrate Richard’s journey and the drive he brings to every step!
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?A: I was truly inspired by my drive to find growth, and what showed me that growth was initially the Xplore Program! Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?A: Taking in all the knowledge and how helpful the team has been, everyone was/is always happy to help whenever I need. Not to mention, my leader Sam being such a wealth of knowledge and guidance. He is truly a great role model to have.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?A: Tips I would give is to be sure that you are well prepared for your interviews. From there, be resilient! You may not be chosen for something right away, but that is just leading to your next door that was meant for you.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?A: My favorite thing about StockX is really the culture and inclusivity. Being able to feel in a place where I belong, not just a cog in some machine. We all truly have our purpose within the company.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?A: Some hobbies that I have is playing guitar and drums! I have been in a few rock bands and have been playing music since middle school. I was in every type of band in high school as well, from Marching band (Section Leader for the Drum Line), Jazz band, Symphonic band, you name it!

Dominic Sheridan | Marketing Coordinator | London
Dom joined StockX back in August 2020 as a Verification Expert, mastering the details, earning his VE Level III promotion, and stepping up as a Trainer to help others grow too. When a 3-month marketing mentorship opened up in our Xplore program, he jumped in – bringing energy, creativity and passion. Fast forward to July 2025, and Dom’s officially part of the Marketing team, turning that passion into a full-time career!
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?A: I’ve always been drawn to marketing and the creativity that drives it. Having been involved in sneaker and streetwear culture for as long as I can remember, combining these interests felt like a natural fit. My enthusiasm for both the marketing and for StockX made the transition into this role feel seamless.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?A: Hard to believe how quickly time has flown, it feels like just yesterday I joined StockX, and now I’m five years deep! One of the most memorable moments was when I transitioned from my previous role. My leader, Ediz, was just as excited as I was. We reflected on what I’d accomplished and the excitement for what was ahead. His genuine support and enthusiasm were a true testament to the kind of leader he is!
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?A: My biggest piece of advice would be to focus on excelling in your current role and giving it your all. At the same time, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try new things, take on different challenges, and bring fresh ideas to the table. Showing initiative and innovation goes a long way. It’s also really important to build relationships across the business. When people know who you are and the impact you’re making, you’ll naturally come to mind when new opportunities open up.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?A: Hands down, it’s the people. It’s rare to find a workplace where so many others share the same interests and passions. I’ve always been into sneakers, so being able to come to work every day and be surrounded by people who love the culture just as much as I do is honestly such a blessing.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?A: I always carry my Contax T2 with me because I love shooting film, there’s something fun about not seeing the photos right away and waiting to see how they turn out. Suraj Tripathi | Engineering Manager | Bangalore, India
Suraj joined StockX in March 2021 as a Senior Software Engineer and later moved into a Tech Lead role in early 2024. In December 2024, he began a new chapter as an Engineering Manager. “It’s been a journey filled with continuous learning, growth, and a few unexpected life lessons along the way.”
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?A: I’ve always been pretty clear about where I wanted to go. My path has always looked like SSE → Tech Lead → EM. So when the opportunity came up, it felt like the natural next step. My leadership team believed that I was ready and encouraged me to take it on.It wasn’t a formal interview or application process. It was more a recognition of the work I’d already been doing and the ownership I’d taken on. Looking back, it felt less like a sudden jump and more like an organic evolution.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?A: That transition period was both challenging and unforgettable. I was managing multiple critical projects while my wife was dealing with a major medical issue which meant taking leave on and off for nearly six weeks spread over 6 months. What really stood out to me was how supportive everyone was. Arun (my manager) told me not to worry too much about work and to focus on my family. Pooja (Director, PX) and Vegas (CTO) echoed the same thing. That kind of compassion and trust made a huge difference. It gave me the confidence to show up fully, both for my family and for my team and reminded me that leadership is very much about people.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?A: If I had to give one piece of advice, it would be this: take complete ownership. When you treat a project like it’s your own and communicate clearly, unblocking others, calling out risks early, and making sure things ship on time, people start to see you as a leader long before you get the title. And if I could go back, I’d start building that mindset even earlier in my journey.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?A: Definitely the people and the culture. StockX genuinely supports you as a person, not just an employee. During tough times, the empathy and flexibility I experienced were incredible. I also love the diversity and autonomy. You’re trusted to take ownership and make decisions that have real impact.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?A: Outside of work, I’m usually experimenting with new technologies, especially AI. it’s an area that fascinates me endlessly. Apart from that, I have a golden retriever and spend a lot of time with him, taking him running, swimming, etc.

I felt as though there was opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and take on a new leadership role in a new and developing pillar of the company (front facing retail).I also wanted to create a stronger connection between the operations and retail teams where there seemed to be a disconnect. I’ve had a strong support system from all my leaders and peers at XFC – D’Andre Thomas, Gavin Livingstone, Carey Shorts, Tanya Spearing and many more whom supported/pushed me to take on this new role. The interview process was very smooth and felt natural being that all the skills needed to succeed were all ones learned from those specific leaders I mentioned above.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?A: My journey to transitioning to my current role has been quite the experience. From working long hours during Covid as a Verifier; to preparing all our US sites to be staffed accordingly for peak season; then jumping back into operations aka the ‘Trenches’, building more connections and developing my leadership skills from my peers; now taking on this new role in NYC as an Store Operations Manager gearing up for a new and fresh revamp of our retail store. All aspects of my journey has given me all the tools to be successful in the space I’m currently in and I wouldn’t take any of those experiences for granted.

Lastly, don’t be shy or afraid to take on new tasks and use all of your resources available to guide you to success!
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?A: My favorite thing about working at StockX would definitely have to be the people/genuine friendships that I’ve made and the opportunity for experiences through travel with the company. Siebe Bellemakers | Team Lead, Verification & QA | Eindhoven, Netherlands
Siebe joined six years ago as a sneaker Verification Expert. He excelled in this role and then received cross-training in all verticals. After a few years, he was promoted to Team Captain, and he was subsequently promoted again into a Team Lead for Verification/QA, which he has been doing for the past three years.
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: One of my goals in both life and work is to help people grow.
This can be in a professional context, but also on a personal level. That’s where I find meaning and fulfilment. When the role of Team Lead became available, I was drawn to the opportunity to collaborate with people on a deeper level, to learn from them, and to share that knowledge with others. I’m very grateful that I was given that chance.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: A memorable moment for me was going through a challenging time in my role.
I take my responsibilities seriously, and in the beginning, I found it difficult to navigate through tough situations, especially during the major backlog period we experienced in Eindhoven. Fortunately, I received great support during that time, and thanks in large part to the amazing team we have, I made it through. This experience was memorable because it showed me that even in difficult times, you can find your way through with the right support and persistence.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: My advice would be: focus on your strengths and work on the things you want to improve. Stay critical of yourself, keep asking why things happen or why something isn’t working, but also don’t forget to live in the moment. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or to make mistakes.People often focus so much on moving into a new role that it can feel disappointing if that opportunity doesn’t come immediately. I had to learn this myself as well. I applied for the Team Captain role a few times before I got it. But looking back, the journey was incredibly valuable, even more so than I realized at the time. Once I started focusing on myself and what I wanted to grow in, everything started to happen more naturally. And remember: it’s not always about whether you get the position, it’s about what you learn along the way.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: What I really value is that we all get the space to be ourselves. We take our jobs seriously, but we also have a lot of fun throughout the day. You’re surrounded by like-minded people, and it feels good to come to work and do what we do together.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?
A: In my previous job, I coached CrossFit classes and competed at a national level at a younger age. CrossFit is still a big passion of mine. I love challenging myself physically and pushing my limits outside of work as well.

Oscar Cortez | Team Captain Verification & Quality Assurance | Tokyo Verification Center
Oscar first joined StockX as a Verification Specialist. He soon after moved up into Verification Quality Assurance Specialist role. Most recently, he was promoted to Team Captain for Verification and Quality Assurance.
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: What really inspired me to apply for a new role was the desire to have a bigger impact, not just on the products we verify but on the people I work with and the processes we follow. I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and making things more efficient, and as I got more involved with quality assurance and cross-functional projects, I realized I wanted to keep pushing that even further.I saw the Team Captain role as a chance to step up, support my team’s growth, and help shape how we work together to deliver the best for our customers. It wasn’t just about a title change. It was about taking on new challenges, continuing to learn, and contributing to StockX’s success in a more meaningful way. It’s been an exciting shift because now I get to interact with the team more directly, oversee quality, and help connect the dots across departments to elevate the customer experience.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: A moment that stands out was supporting the Hong Kong team during their WMS rollout. It was a huge challenge, but it pushed me to think globally, adapt quickly, and communicate clearly across cultures. That experience really shaped how I approach leadership today with clarity, and a strong focus on collaboration. Those experiences reminded me that growth doesn’t always come with a loud announcement. Sometimes it’s in the quiet moments, training a teammate, solving a tough issue, or just showing up consistently for your team, that you realize how far you’ve come.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: If you’re thinking about moving into another position, my biggest piece of advice is to stay curious and proactive. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Start preparing now. Ask questions, learn as much as you can about the role you’re interested in, and look for small ways to take on related responsibilities. It shows initiative and builds trust. And lastly, believe in your growth. Even if you don’t check every box yet, your willingness to learn, improve, and contribute goes a long way. Show up, give your best, and trust that your efforts will open the right doors.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: I really enjoy how easy it is to connect with people across different teams and locations. Whether I’m working with someone from engineering, catalog, or customer service and whether they’re based in Europe, Asia, or the U.S. everyone’s approachable and open to sharing ideas. It makes the work more interesting and helps me see the bigger picture of what we’re building.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?
A: Even though I don’t actively practice it anymore, aviation has always been something I’m passionate about. It still fascinates me.On a more day to day level, I really enjoy cooking. I like trying out all kinds of dishes, but making pizza from scratch is definitely one of my favorites. There’s something fun about experimenting with different toppings and dough styles, plus it’s hard to beat a good homemade pizza!

Alison recently transitioned from the Customer Service leadership team, after 3 years, to her current role as an Account Manager in the Business Operations department.

Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: Honestly, StockX itself was the biggest inspiration. The culture is vibrant, and the people are simply amazing. After more than three years with an incredible team, I was curious to explore other parts of the business and continue growing within this dynamic environment. The process felt natural, supportive, exciting, and full of positive energy.

A: What stands out most is how quickly time has flown by! When I started in Business Operations back in January, I expected a long adjustment period, but thanks to my incredible colleagues Sara, Deni, Nathan, and our awesome manager Justin, the transition felt seamless. We clicked right away and have built a fantastic working rhythm. It’s just another reminder that the people here really are the heart of the company.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?

Breah Patterson | Senior Product Manager | Detroit, MI
Breah started in October 2018 as a Customer Service (CS) agent. Within a few months, she was promoted into a CS Team Captain role and was subsequently promoted again a year later, into a CS Team Lead role. The pandemic meant some shifts in the team and Breah had the opportunity to take on an Interim Project Coordinator role which allowed her to start working on projects with teams external to CS.
In December of 2020, she joined the product team as an Associate Product Manager. Two years later, she was then promoted twice; to a Product Manager in January of 2022 and then into a Senior Product Manager in July of 2022.

Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: In coming to StockX, I knew that I wanted to explore opportunities to move into other roles within the company. And while personally I’ve always loved the idea of exploring entrepreneurship, I didn’t immediately know that would lead to a Product Manager role. Then, during my time working as an interim Project Coordinator I supported the launch of a new payout vendor integration. The experience grew my interest in building solutions to customer problems. When the Associate Product Manager role opened up, I jumped at the opportunity because it allowed me to start to take so much of what I learned in customer service and translate that into products that addressed those needs.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: Building a relationship with the engineers on my team definitely made my transition into Product. They allowed me to spend more time than they likely had asking questions to get up to speed on the domain and projects and really helped me find my early footing in this space.
As my teams have continued to grow and sometimes change, those early experiences taught me to always nurture a collaborative relationship with engineering because it makes all the difference in the design and implementation of a project.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: Find ways to expose yourself to other business areas, often, so that you can explore what interests you and build a network within the company. I found that this was really critical in my early time at StockX, where I was constantly learning from people in various business areas and sharing feedback with other teams about things I had gathered from customer conversations all aimed at trying to improve the customer experience.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: I love learning from the incredible group of talent we have here. There are so many super smart people here who are always thinking of ways to grow and evolve our business. I work in a business area that interfaces with a lot of groups within the company and I’m always amazed by all the things people are working on, brainstorming about, or launching that are show how innovative our team is.

Ian Zuniga | Asset Protection Associate | Hong Kong Verification Center
Ian joined StockX in late 2020 as an Operations Specialist and was later promoted to Team Captain for Operations & Supply Chain in 2021. At the beginning of 2024, he applied and was successful for the Asset Protection Associate role in the Crisis Management & Asset Protection (CMAP) team, where he has been excelling since.
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: Personally, I think that everyone should strive for growth in both their personal and professional life. This mindset pushed me to apply for the role as I wanted to learn and develop new skillsets. I also try and jump at any opportunity for growth within the workplace which is why I applied for the role. The process was pretty straightforward. I applied via Greenhouse and went through 2 rounds of interviews. Interviews can be nerve wracking but the CMAP leaders that conducted both interviews were very friendly and made the whole process a more relaxed experience. I received the good news shortly after. I am super grateful for being given the opportunity.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: Transitioning into the CMAP role was a huge shift and required a lot of learning. The CMAP team members were all so welcoming and supportive and that definitely made the transition a lot easier. Everyone on the team was always so willing to provide support and advice on any issues I had despite the time zone differences.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: To excel in your current role. Stay consistent in your work and deliver on a daily basis to the best you can. When an opportunity presents itself, go for it!Another piece of advice I would say is to network and chat with members of the leadership team when they come visit your facility or location. Even if it’s just a casual conversation, you could leave a good impression on them!
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: The growth opportunities and the culture. With StockX being such a fast-paced business, a lot of opportunities come up when the company makes changes. These opportunities provide team members with the chance to learn and grow within the workplace. Apart from that, I can honestly say that StockX’s work culture is great as there is a lot of emphasis on creating a safe, inclusive and fair workplace.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?

My team and my manager Justin Coffin were very supportive, and their guidance made it much easier to settle in and grow into the role!
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: My advice is to first build and maintain a strong foundation in your current position. Having a solid grasp of your responsibilities will give you the confidence to take on something new and at the same time, try to look for opportunities and take on extra tasks to get involved beyond your usual scope. Stepping out of your comfort zone to learn about other departments and the work that they do can also open doors you never even realized were there!
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?

Gavin Livingstone | People Experience Manager | West Caldwell, NJ
His StockX journey began in 2020, where he started as a Verification Expert at the Lithia Springs Verification Center in Atlanta. He held number of different positions during his four years onsite: Team Captain Verification & Quality Assurance, Team Lead Verification & Quality Assurance, & Sr. People Experience Specialist. In 2024, Gavin transitioned to XFC West Caldwell where he now supports both the XFC and the NYC Retail location. He has since been promoted earlier this year to People Experience Manager.
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: What truly drives my career advancement is my passion for the company’s culture and my sense of purpose in delivering an exceptional team member experience. As a team lead in Atlanta, I centered my focus not only on performance of people but on the energy and morale of the team. When the local PX opportunity opened in Atlanta, I was quick to respond and felt like this role would be a great alignment with who I am as a person and the outlook that I have for each team member across the Verification Center. Since transitioning into PX nearly three years ago, I find myself managing both XFC West Caldwell & NYC Retail. This transition has opened a new series of opportunities for me in this company and feel inspired to continue to elevate them daily.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: Yes, there are so many wonderful memories that stick out when I reflect on five years with the organization. Transitioning to PX in Atlanta presented me with an opportunity to go OCM for the first time to meet and train with some of my fellow colleagues. This opportunity allowed me to quickly get to know a lot of my peers and gave me a sense that this was the right move for me at the time. Sarah Rivera, Courtney Clarke, Bianca Konja, David Steals, & Valerie Rodriguez gave me a clear path on how to succeed in my current role and gave me a solid infrastructure to lean on for support & ask for support when needed.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: I would say to do the best that you can at your current position as you never know what opportunities may arise. I would also say to put yourself out there and to try to build a network of resources within the organization whom you can reach out to for additional support and guidance along the way.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: My favorite thing about working at StockX is being able to work across many different departments and the people that I have been able to meet along the way. My time in Atlanta was surrounded by an energetic team and continued to inspire me to move forward within the organization. My time here at StockX has been truly amazing and being able to continue to network 5+ years later has truly been special.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?
A: Yes! Outside of work, I spend the majority of my free time being a photographer for friends and local creatives around NYC. I specifically love to highlight my passion of clothing, style, and design.

Erika Miura | Customer Service Team Leader | Tokyo
Erika’s journey since joining us as a Bilingual Customer Service Specialist has been the epitome of growth and what is possible when you grab opportunities with both hands! She has been promoted 3 times since joining the team from CS Specialist to Senior CS Specialist; then to Team Captain, and now as of January 2025, Team Leader for our CS team in APAC.
Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: My inspiration came from my desire for continuous self-improvement—both professionally and personally. While career progression is important to me, the difficult situations or new experiences I get to tackle at work allows me to gain valuable skills which translate to my personal life too.I believe that working the CS Specialist role allowed me to improve my communication skills, benefiting me in both professional and personal settings. I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on new challenges and push myself further. The interview process was definitely a little daunting, as I tend to doubt myself and overthink. However, I appreciated the chance to engage with leaders I don’t typically interact with and gain insight into the organisation’s current direction.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: I’m approaching the end of my first month in this new role, and it has definitely been a whirlwind! I’ve already experienced many firsts, but the support from my team has made the transition much smoother. The congratulatory messages I received truly warmed my heart and gave me the confidence and drive I needed to propel me into this new role.
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: Becoming a Team Leader was always something I aspired to, but to be completely honest, I didn’t expect the opportunity to come when it did. The role opened up not long after I stepped into the Team Captain position, and just as I was starting to find my groove. Although it felt a little soon, I knew it wasn’t an opportunity I wanted to let pass by, and I’m so glad I went for it.So, I guess my advice would be to just go for the challenge and you might just surprise yourself with what you’re capable of.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: Definitely the people! Especially here in Japan, it is difficult to find a workplace which is so diverse. I’ve made some life long friends here, and love to see the respect and acceptance we all have for each other <3
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?
A: Some of my passions outside of work include travelling, the gym/yoga, my pet bunny Finn (aka the love of my life) and doing my nails.
I’ll take any opportunity to visit somewhere tropical, and some of my most treasured memories are from holidays I have taken with friends.
Since working in CS has me behind a laptop most of the time, I try to stay active whenever possible. Hot yoga has helped me to manage stress while feeling aligned with my body and reminds me to stay present in the current moment 🙂

Q. What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: What inspired me to apply for this role is the desire for something new. After a long time working as a Team Captain with great dedication, I felt the need for a new challenge. The fact that we were collaborating with a 3PL location for the first time made it even more exciting. I enjoy challenges and appreciate opportunities to develop myself. So far, I’ve already learned a lot from the colleagues I now work with more frequently. The application process was less nerve-wracking than I had expected, likely because I genuinely enjoyed my role as Team Captain. Being accepted for the new position was not a requirement for me to stay motivated at work.
Q. Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: What I found most memorable is witnessing the growth we go through as a company. Early in my StockX career, I had the opportunity to work with many different colleagues. The approach on big projects has significantly improved over time. Hats off to everyone who contributed to this development and those who helped in preparing for the Eindhoven Flex Launch!
Q. What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: Go for it! Challenge yourself! But never view a new role or position as your only motivation or final destination. The key lies in preparing for a new role. Identify the skillset and qualities that are required. Then identify which of them you still need to develop. Write them down —that is now your motivation; Achieving those goals and developing the needed skillset.
Q. What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: My favorite reason for working here is the team. I’ve never felt so at home anywhere else. Collaborating with colleagues who share the same interests is incredibly important. Since I quickly moved into a leadership role, I also want to emphasise how much I value the quality of growth opportunities. Not necessarily for myself, but being able to contribute to the development of our team is something I deeply appreciate.
Q. Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share?
A: To mention something different from collecting sneakers, vinyl, or art. I recently started exploring the “art of bonsai.” I had been interested in it for a long time but never took the first step. After making my garden low-maintenance, I found myself missing the hands-on work with plants. It was the perfect moment to start a new hobby.

A: What truly drives my career advancement is my genuine passion for the culture and my sense of purpose in delivering an exceptional product to customers. Growing up inspired by figures like Michael Jordan and others motivated people around the world, I aspire to bring that same level of inspiration to others. The process was quite straightforward, involving several rounds of interviews and completed a data analysis test. I believe this mindset distinguishes me from other candidates.

However, with the trust I have in my teammates and the work ethic I’ve demonstrated over the years, the transition was relatively smooth. The second most memorable moment has been the opportunity to develop my teammates through my new title. Recently, I launched a mini project that I assigned to them, allowing them to learn new skills and identify key points for verification that are very helpful for front-line operations. The joy of witnessing their career advancement and sharing my passion with them has been truly incredible.

Alana Meeks | Integrated Marketing Specialist | Clarkson, MI
She has made a number of moves since joining StockX as a Customer Service Representative. Shortly after, she moved into the Customer Service Fraud team. Within half a year of that, an opportunity arose in marketing and Alana made the transition into a Social Media Coordinator position. Now she’s our Integrated Marketing Specialist!
“To most, every title I’ve held may seem unrelated, and to be fair, they have been – but that’s the joy about always wanting to learn because the skillsets you’ll be able to build, especially in my case, will always come in handy and can apply to multiple roles throughout one’s career.”

Q: What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: Before my time at StockX, I had worked for a non-profit Marketing team where the opportunity to grow their social channels presented itself and paved the way for me to gain knowledgeable experience on all things social. While I was happy with the CS Fraud team and my position, once I saw the Social job opening, I knew that I had to apply. It meant that I’d be able to get back to yet another job I loved with the opportunity to learn even more with such a large online presence. To some, it may have looked like a leap of faith but I remember telling my future co-workers during the onboarding process that I’d be working for the Marketing team in less than a year. I guess if you speak it into existence and you have the determination driving you, it’ll happen. One moment, I’m assisting customers with claiming their accounts back and the next, I’m proving to a panel of interviewers that I’m the person for the job. The next thing you know, I’m tweeting (a now throwback) and posting on Instagram for millions of people to see. All within one year of being apart of StockX.
Q: Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: I can’t pinpoint an exact moment due to the fact that my entire journey has been one for the books. Every team that I’ve joined and every experience that I’ve had has truly been unforgettable. While my most recent role change has been from Social Media to Integrated Marketing, we were already a team so it felt like moving from one home to another. I had already been assisting my current team before transitioning over so I was able to get into the groove of things pretty easily and was still able to stay integrated with my previous team making it a true cross-functional collaboration within Marketing for me.
Q: What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: Be the best person that you can be for yourself, your current role, and be the person your team needs. Once you master that, you’ll be so much more prepared to join a new team and explore a new role with ease.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: My favorite thing about working at StockX has to be the ever-changing environment. No day is the same here and it really helps to keep the boredom away. You’ll have your standard day-to-day but what’s involved whether it be a new campaign, promotions, photoshoots, etc. will always remain different. Also, my team. I cannot stress enough how much it means to me to have an amazing team beside me every single day to execute remarkable work and crush every goal presented to us.
Q: Do you have a passion outside of work that you would like to share? We find many of our team members have hobbies that connect to current culture.
A: Outside of work, I’m most passionate about my pups and flower gardening. I’m always striving to ensure that I have the pommiest looking poms (Pomeranians) and that all three of them are living their best life! When it comes to the flowers I plant, I love to inspect them every day monitoring growth, ridding any potential pest, de-weeding and everything in between. Not to toot my own horn, but this year, my marigolds are out of this world.

Dennis started working with StockX initially as a temporary worker 3 years ago. He did such an amazing job that the team decided to hire him permanently as an Operations Specialist after half a year. He was actively engaged in making an impact and joined the Safety Committee, Street Team, became ‘Box Champion’ as well as the ‘Safety Champion’.By 2022, he had made a name for himself and when the leadership team were identifying who could step up, they selected him to try out as an Acting Team Captain and after proving himself, was officially promoted into the role.

Q: What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: It’s the team that inspired me. Those around me saw my potential before I could and made sure to always tell me. This inspired me to give the best of myself and keep a constant growth mindset. For me, it’s a little different as I didn’t ‘apply’ for the role of Team Captain. I’ve been working super hard, taking initiatives and trying to improve both myself and the company. With the help of those who believed in me and my own perseverance, the job was eventually offered to me.
Q: Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: How fast everything went. I had a conversation with my Team Leader at the time, Lloyd, where he told me I’d get the acting role at the time. Of course, it’s always a bit heart-throbbing whenever your leader calls you up for a sudden conversation. Imagine my surprise when I actually received a promotion! And this actually happened twice, since we also had a conversation where the role was set in stone. Also a big shout-out to Lloyd Kusters who helped me out with so much in this journey. He was actually promoted to ‘Operations Manager’ on the same day I got my promotion!
Q: What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: Always give your best. Look for ways to improve yourself, the operations, your team or anything else in the company and don’t be afraid to take the initiative as well. Frequently ask feedback from your peers, since they know you best and act upon the given feedback. Step out of your comfort zone.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: The complete freedom to be yourself. At StockX there’s no need to put on a mask or facade, everyone will respect and accept you just for being you. Ethnicity, clothing styles, sexuality, gender, religion or anything else don’t matter since we’re all equals here regardless of anything. This shows not just in culture but in the workplace as well. All ideas and initiatives from anyone in the company are carefully considered and respected. This freedom in culture and work is what allowed me to get where I am now, and I believe anyone can achieve the same at StockX.

Sarah Rivera | People Experience Manager | Detroit, MI
Sarah joined in 2018 working in our Verification Center as a Quality Assurance Specialist. In 2019, she moved into the HR world starting off as a Recruiting Coordinator and being promoted in 2021 to a Senior PX (HR) Specialist. In 2022, she was promoted again to her current role as our PX Manager. What a ride!
Q: What inspired you to apply for a new role and what was the process like?
A: Completing my Bachelor & Masters degree is what inspired me to apply for a new role in HR outside of my QA role I was originally hired for. The process of applying and interviewing was very smooth as well as the transition into my role outside of operations. The interviewers during the process made me feel comfortable and welcomed!
Q: Can you share any memorable parts of your journey transitioning from your previous role to your current one?
A: During my transition, on my first day of my new role, the PX team had a welcome card and flowers waiting for me on my new desk which made me feel so welcomed and happy that I made the transition!
Q: What advice or tips would you give someone who is looking to move into another role internally?
A: Network within the company especially with other team members who are in departments that you are interested in joining! If you see an opening you are interested in, always apply! You never know what could happen. I would also say to talk to your PX Partner and ask questions about the role.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at StockX?
A: My favorite thing about working at StockX is being able to work so closely with the team members here due to my role and responsibilities in PX. My Detroit Operations team is amazing. My career here at StockX has been so amazing and being able to work with the team and help people makes me feel like I am genuinely making a difference!
