As 2021 takes its shape, the colder months are showing their teeth. Sweater weather is in full swing and for those whoā€™ve come to accept that weā€™re entrenched in the winter season, it may be time to update the cold weather wardrobe. With work from home all but guaranteed to continue at least until itā€™s warm again, a new sweater may be just the piece to meet your indoor winter needs. The Supreme Nike Swoosh Sweater offers a unique intersection of sportswear and menswear that’s comfortable, made by Nike, and will leave you feeling like actually you got dressed in the morning. Nike doesnā€™t release a lot of knits, but the collaborative Swoosh Sweater with Supreme delivers exactly what one would expect: a simple yet elegant top that feels like itā€™s breaking the rules just a little bit.

Supreme and Nike released the sweater nearly two years ago in May of 2019 as a part of their first collaboration of the year. The collection immediately sold out, becoming the top selling streetwear drop on StockX for weeks. These Swoosh Sweaters released in three different colors with the black and white colorway presenting the most traditional look and the white version features a contrasting red swoosh that demands attention. Despite its potential to become an instant-classic, these tops released to fierce competition. The Supreme Nike Hooded Sport Jacket released as a part of the same collection and went on to outperform the sweaters. Though May might seem late for jackets, itā€™s something Supreme has done frequently. Supreme and Nikeā€™s coupling of the Swoosh Sweater and Hooded Sports Jacket led the collaboration in both sales numbers and price premium. As a whole the collection delivered a fresh taste of nostalgia before the summer of ā€˜19, making it a major hit in fans of both brandsā€™ eyes.

Sweaters arenā€™t the most popular category on StockX but they may be one of the most intriguing due to the fact that the knit tops are usually more complex to make than a t-shirt or a hoodie. Take the Supreme Nike Swoosh Sweater, which features a knitted Swoosh design on its chest as opposed to printed or embroidered logo for instance. Supremeā€™s Smurfs Sweaters from FW20 are knitted with a more complex design as well, presenting a jumping Smurf on the chest surrounded by all different colors of letters. Fear Of God Essentials has also recently taken to the sweater game, delivering their extremely popular earth-tone color palette in a pullover knit form as a part of their FW20 collection. If you know how to pick them, sweaters on StockX can be solid investment pieces. Palaceā€™s collaborative Bear Sweater with Ralph Lauren has been sold on StockX for an average sale price of $781 USD, with some sales of over $1,200 USD. The Supreme Nike Swoosh Sweater would have also been an excellent investment piece at the time of its release as it now trades at an average price premium of over 200%. While not every sweater resells with the same bang for your buck as a Palace Ralph Lauren or Supreme Nike collaboration, but if youā€™ve got the opportunity to get your hands on a collaborative sweater, it might be worth it to keep it deadstock.Ā
