This week, LEGO expands its hugely popular Botanical Collection with two new sets, and Panini drops a new set of exciting rookie basketball cards. Read about them both in the latest edition of The Rip.

LEGO adds to its highly successful Botanical Collection with the addition of two new sets: Orchid and Succulents. The iconic toy maker originally released the Flower Bouquet and Bonsai, and after its positive reception, LEGO is now gearing up to drop two new botanicals. If you’ve got a green thumb, but are too novice for the real thing, the LEGO Botanical Collection covers all your beginner gardening bases.

LEGO Botanical Collection Orchid Set 10311

The LEGO Orchid set is modeled after a real orchid and comes with six white and pink blooms, five leaves, and two air roots, set in a light blue plant pot. Once all 608 pieces have been built, the orchid stands over 15 inches high. And for those uber crafty builders, builders can even make their own flower arrangements.

LEGO Botanical Collection Succulents Set 10309

The LEGO Succulents set comprises 771 pieces, and the kit allows the user to create nine different plants all inspired by a real succulent species. Even cooler is that each plant comes with its own small black container. When completely assembled together, the model measures over 5 inches high, 6.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep.

The Orchid and Succulents sets will be released on May 1.

2021-22 Panini Court Kings Basketball

Panini continues its tradition of releasing one of the most in demand NBA card sets with its 2021-2022 Court Kings Basketball. It’s a set where the art world meets the basketball world, in that it marries beautiful, unique design with coveted rookie cards. Like previous editions, Panini’s Court Kings features four tiers: Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, and Tier IV, which increase both in rarity and artistic design as they move up. The three biggest rookie cards that you’ll be able to find include Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Green.

The 2021-2022 Panini Court Kings Hobby Box contains one pack per box that holds 10 cards total. Two of the cards are slated to be hot, in the form of autographs or relics. You’ll also find two inserts, one rookie, and one parallel per box.

The 2021-2022 Panini Court Kings Hobby Box releases on May 4 at online and local trading card shops.
