[DETROIT] June 7, 2021 — Today, StockX kicks off the first-ever digital StockX Day, a four-day event featuring exclusive product releases, promotions and interactive programming. From June 7 through June 10, StockX will hold daily panel conversations and unlock new product drops and promotions. The first StockX Day was held in 2017 as a physical event for buyers and sellers to connect in person at StockX HQ in Detroit. This year’s event marks the platform’s first foray into an immersive digital, multi-day activation.
“Our goal with this reimagined StockX Day is to keep the spirit of the original customer event, but to make it a more inclusive digital experience with timely conversations, product releases and promotional offerings that are open to every StockX customer,” said Deena Bahri, StockX CMO. “We’ve grown and evolved, and so have our customers. Throughout this four-day activation, we’re acknowledging where StockX has been and how the space has evolved — all while celebrating the millions of customers around the world who are shaping current culture today.”
StockX customers, artists, industry experts and other thought leaders from around the world will come together for four consecutive days of panel discussions. The hosted conversations will dive into topics ranging from sport and culture, to entrepreneurship and alternative investments. Featured panels and speakers include:
The ‘Next Gen Investments’ panel taking place on June 9 will feature insights from StockX’s latest monthly ‘Big Facts’ which published today. The latest installment of the data report spotlights the rise of nontraditional investments, revealing indexes that show the price appreciation of two top-selling sneaker silhouettes — the Air Jordan 4 and the Nike Air Max 1 — as well as the performance of vinyl figures from contemporary artist KAWS and PSA 10 graded basketball cards. As a generation of consumers, collectors and investors seek out new investment opportunities, they are fueling the convergence of consumer goods and tradable assets, and creating unprecedented growth in this space. According to a recent survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of StockX, 23% of US adults have purchased or plan to purchase limited-edition sneakers in 2021, and among them, 37% say they are motivated by the investment opportunity.
Highlights from the promotional lineup include a site-wide buy-to-win promotion and chances to win the J Balvin x Jordan 1 Retro High and a Sony PlayStation 5 Blu-ray Edition Console.
