Astro Boy

The popular character Astro Boy was created in 1951 by Osamu Tekuza, a Japanese cartoonist and animator, as part of a comic book series that quickly became widely popular. The series now has over 5000 pages. The character became so popular, in fact, that Imagi Animation Studios produced an animated superhero movie based loosely on the character in 2009, bringing him even further into the international spotlight.
