Dalek

The Dalek brand is the work of American painter James Marshall, best known for his Space Monkey designs. The portion of his childhood living in Japan heavily influenced the artist. His experiences with Japanese culture and the essence of the punk scene that he was involved in led him to create the Space Monkey. This eventually became his alter ego and a character he used to express his emotions. Today, the Space Monkey is a signature of Dalek designs and continues to appear in most of his products.

The Dalek brand has become synonymous with the Space Monkey character, which is evident through the number of Space Monkey pieces available for purchase. The Dalek Space Monkey Figure Red Edition, for example, is a figure that comes with multiple interchangeable weapons including a knife, cleaver, mallet, and baseball bat. The Space Monkey has large eyes and mouse-like ears. It has a creepy smile on its face and another even creepier face appearing on the back of its head. Aside from figures, Dalek also makes prints that feature this character, like the Dalek Space Monkey (Marching To Oblivian) Print (Signed, Edition of 75). The artist signs this print and features the Space Monkey marching forward with its weapons and shooting lasers out of its eye.

The Dalek brand makes unique collectible pieces for fans of the artist’s work. If you’re looking for more collectible items, check out the Pop Mart collection for figures paying homage to the beloved characters of the Labubu series.
