New Balance 990v1 Sneakers

The New Balance 990v1 silhouette is the first version of the New Balance 990 series. Since its debut in 1982, the sneaker has become popular for its design, and different colorways have been made available.

The New Balance 990v1 running shoe is made of high-grade premium materials to offer high performance, comfort, and support. It features a mesh base upper with suede overlays and sometimes a leather hit on the heel tab and eyestays. Some models have smooth leather panels instead of suede. Branding details include the ‘New Balance’ ‘NB’ branding on the insole, heel tab, and tongue and the signature “N” on the laterals and medials. The ENCAP midsole and heel are bolstered with lightweight EVA foam cushioning for optimal comfort. A Vibram rubber outsole enhances support. The most visible characteristic of this shoe is the synthetic heel mold just above the midsole at the base of the counter.

This running shoe collection is available in different colorways inspired by iconic collaborations with fashion designers and top clothing brands. For instance, New Balance teamed up with streetwear designer Teddy Santis for several sneakers in the collection, like the New Balance 990v1 MiUSA Teddy Santis Macadamia Nut and Teddy Santis Marblehead Incense. Other  releases feature collaborations with top clothing companies like Kith and Carhartt WIP for the 990v1 Kith Dusty Rose and Carhartt WIP 990v1 Dark Navy. Special edition releases like the New Balance 990v1 Version 1 40th Anniversary, which celebrates the model’s 40th anniversary, are also part of this collection.
