Swatch

Swatch and Omega are leading Swiss watchmakers. Swatch was founded in 1983 by Elmar Mock, Ernst Thomke, and Jacques Müller, while Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt. These two watchmakers collaborated to create the Swatch x Omega Moonswatch, a re-imaginative take on the Speedmaster Moonwatch.

Released in March 2022, the Swatch x Omega collection features 11 watches. Each design, from Mission to Uranus to Mission to Mars combines the Swatch Bioceramic material with elements from the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, notably the Speedmaster subdials, the tachymeter scale “Dot over Ninety,” and asymmetrical case. All dials feature OMEGA X SWATCH branding and the Speedmaster and Moonswatch logos. A close look at the glass construction will reveal the low-key “S” incorporated in the center of the crystal. The dial's outer ring and subdials have a circular pattern, while the hours, minutes, and chronograph second hands and hour markers have Super-LumiNova, which enable them to glow in the dark. The case back on each watch is printed with the mission text and has the wording “Dream Big – Fly High – Explore The Universe – Reach For Planets.” Additionally, every battery cover has an image of the planetary body the design is based on.

Other than the designs, what we love the most about Swatch x Omega Moonswatch is their material, Bioceramic. Resilient and water-resistant, this material has a silk-like touch. Like every other Swatch accessory, the watches feel as good as they look.

Besides the Swatch X Omega collection, Swatch has other top-tier collaborations. Its collaboration with Blancpain offers several luxury watches, including the Atlantic Ocean Blue, Antarctic Ocean Gray, and Pacific Ocean White, while its collaboration with BAPE has given rise to accessories, notably the Black Camo and the Big Bold Tokyo. Like Moonwatch pieces, these products are valuable collectibles.
